Awesome Erin!!! Way to go. There is an article on shin splints in the Injury Section and also look online and see what you can find. It is very common.... Hate them.

Hi Jonny, Way to go. You are doing so awesome. Already ran some 5k's, woot woot!!! Week 5 catches a lot of people off guard. You pushed through it and DID IT!!! Keep it up.

Hi ChattyCookie, Oh my gosh. You are so funny. I love it. Welcome here and Congratulations on your first run. Woohoo. You did it!!!!!!!!! Yes. You do need great shoes, strap down those girls. Lol. Etc. I love how you described it all. Hilarious. I bet you don't look like an animal running at all. And if you do, those driving by in a car are sitting on thier butts and you are moving, just wave as you go on by. I am sooo proud of you. Keep it up and keep us posted!!

Hey Amanda, I use the app 3 alternate days a week, I then I use one of those days to run a 4th time. Other days I do strength training, yoga, videos. Bike, hike. Whatever I feel like. Just shock your body by doing different things and your body will love you for it. Happy Running!
-
Hi Jen, It's up to you but I'd give your body a rest between days of running. I like to workout 5 days a week and weekends off. Doing chores is great exercise too. Good luck to you. Make sure you rest those muscles so they will get strong.

Hi Theresa. I absolutely find myself soooooo slow without music. If you don't have a playlist, I use Pandora or Spotify. They do have workout our fitness music. I've had to use that before and I love it. You are doing great. Keep it up!!

Hi there Goodall. So proud of you for being pumped about this. It's an awesome feeling when we achieve somehting. What Trishe saiys about resting is soooooo true. Just Make sure you don't injure yourself. I run/walk every other day. Never back to back days. But some days you feel amazing and want to. Do it, but make sure you rest to to give those muscles enough time to recover. Happy Running.

Hi Lily. I love the way it synced to MFP but I do think you lose your progress. I'm not sure though. But you can check off the days as completed though. Maybe someone else has a better answer???

Hi there, Welcome here first. TrishE hit it on the head. Shoes are the number one thing. I have actually taken a shoe off and linked hime because of crappy brands. I am true Asics, New Balance, Nike fan. I have a bone on The right foot that sticks up more than the other, so I go a size bigger. Otherwise I have to go home sock footed on a rocky dirt road. Uggh. Been there, done that. Motivation is the key. Wanting it is the best motivation ever. Diet will help too. I am a Paleo Girl and it is just eating clean. Period. Stop the processed foods. You can do it. Keep us posted.

Hi there Silver, Welcome here and you can do it. I'll trade 40 for my age. Lol. You are doing awesom. 40 is the new 20. Ha ha. Hope you heal quickly. Start off slowly and see how you do. Good luck.

Hmmmm Lil, I don't know. It's recording week 3 and you are on week 4? You can uncheck the week for and go back to week 3 if you want to. 15 minutes at Daycare??? That's not a lot, why do they do that??? Good luck to you. Keep us posted.

Hey there, In MFP, you have to go to settings, apps&devices and sync to the 5k app. Then it should work. Happy you are all here. Good luck.
-
Awesome H4Me. So proud of you. Wish I could jump though the computer and run with you in the 5k. All my walking/running buddies moved away. Good luck to you. Super proud of you.

Hi there, Well, First, welcome on here and congrats to you. I don't kniwnwhat kind of ohone you have, but you can go to settings, Notifications, and find the app there and turn off notifications for that app. I do it a lot on my phone and iPad as those notifications would drive Ya nuts. Let me know if that is what you are looking for. If you feel like you are not improving, maybe some speed drills??? Strength training?? Try this; when you are in the run phase of the day, here and there, increase your intensity of it. I know some days it is sooooo hard to move faster, but it's all in the mind. Our Mind will give up before our body does. If I don't have music on, I barely can run. Great music makes me Move it, Move it!!!! Hope this helps you. Good luck and Keep us posted.

TrishE, you give awesome advice. Love it. Welcome here Gage, Your gear sounds perfect. I love to run 3-4 days a week and do other fitness in other days. BIke, hike, lift weights, etc..... You live where it's warm so you will probably run in the mornings when it is cooler. Hapoy you are here. You are doing awesome. Good luck.

Hi there. This app trains you to be able to run a 5k by the end of training with the app. Is this what you mean? You don't run a 5k every day. If you can run a 5k already, you might want to go. With the 10k app, like I did. I GPS'd it and it is about 1.3-1.5 miles a day. Let me know if this what you mean. We can all help you. Good luck. Oh yeah, you run as slow as you want or fast. I usually start out slow and then go faster. Hugs.

Hi there, What do you mean when the timer runs out??? You don't run a 5kk every time you run the app for the day. It averages in the beginning about 1.5 miles. You then build up as the days go on and you will be running a 5k Is this what you mean?? Are you already running a 5k before you started this app?? If you are,, then you might want start with the 10k app like I did. I was already running a 5k and can hike 10-15 miles. Let me know how to help you. Good luck.

Hi Nikkia. If you do back to back joggin/running, you will be sore. When we work out we tear muscle fibers and that is why we are sore. They heal and that is what makes us stronger. When I do T25 DVDs , man , by the 3rd day , can barely walk, he uses the calf muscles a lot. But it gets better. Make sure you stretch properly after your workouts and again if you feel it later. Just make sure you Never Ever , stretch a cold muscle. You will pop a muscle and be out for weeks. Not cool. When I taught 10 classes or more, it sucks to be down with a popped muscle. Welcome here and proud of you. Everyone helps here and it is so nice. Good luck.
