Hi there NH. Welcome here. Thanks for joining us. I always notice people that first start out running have this issue. Most of us dont breathe deepely enough in our everyday lives. Now, practice breathing ad deep ad you can through your chest. Hold it, release. Practice this a few times a day. We seriously dont fill our lungs capacity when we breathe. So when we run for the first time, our lungs burn. It is normal It will get better with time and not. Look online for some breathing exercises and i am sure there is an app for that. Keep us posted. Hi There Sam, Welcome here. Its all about motivation and how you want the finished results to turn out. I, myself, find myself being unmotivated too. No walking/running friends to go with me, so it is hard, but i do it. These forums are great and so much help. All of us are here to help you. You can do it. So many great shoes out there. I am Sooo in love with Asics, New Balance, Nike. Great shoes. Go to a running store to get evaluated and to get the best shoes. C25K app, 10k apps are the best from Zenlabsfitness. I love to have MapyMyFitness running in the background too. Tracks how far i go. Also, a great support bra, water carrier is great too. Good luck to you and we are all here to help you. Oh wow. I have ran and ran and ran and my voice prompts me even with the phone in lock mode. Hmm. I'm like you, I hate holding my phone in my hand and keep it in my pocket and I get prompted. Have you asked support??

Etc. I love how you described it all. Hilarious. I bet you don't look like an animal running at all. Hey Amanda, I use the app 3 alternate days a week, I then I use one of those days to run a 4th time. Other days I do strength training, yoga, videos. Bike, hike. Whatever I feel like. Just shock your body by doing different things and your body will love you for it. Happy Running!

Hi Theresa. I absolutely find myself soooooo slow without music. If you don't have a playlist, I use Pandora or Spotify. They do have workout our fitness music. I've had to use that before and I love it. You are doing great. Keep it up!!

Hi there Goodall. So proud of you for being pumped about this. It's an awesome feeling when we achieve somehting. What Trishe saiys about resting is soooooo true. Just Make sure you don't injure yourself. I run/walk every other day. Never back to back days. But some days you feel amazing and want to. Do it, but make sure you rest to to give those muscles enough time to recover. Happy Running.
