  1. Definitely an invigorating start to the new year-awesome energy! Hi Kez and Happy New Year!! Congrats on picking up where you left off w/o a hitch! I am looking forward to being as far ahead as you are ... soon!! CHEERS!!
  2. Hi Sinx! I do not have Asthma, yet I did find this informative, perhaps helpful for you: Asthma-Run With It! She, (the author) mentions some helpful tips in regards to cold weather. Also, check this out for inspiration: Paula Radcliffe has run in the Olympics for Great Britain four times in spite of suffering from Asthma. There are many other articles in regards to what she uses and when. I googled: Asthma and running and had fun perusing different blogs. You can do it ... even if it means starting slowly. I'm looking forward to hearing what you choose to do! CHEERS!
  3. Tee, I love your decision to begin and continue even if you are running alone! Awesome-sauciness! Looking forward to hearing how your run/walks go! Cheers!

  7. I wanted to like Tim's post, yet could not. Golden words of encouragement up above AdorableBlackcat! Welcome to Zenlabs! Once you get started, I am so curious and eager to hear how you continue to progress! Check out the Accountability 2015 forum to keep us posted! As Rumi shared: "Don't hide your heart but reveal it, so that mine might be revealed, and I might accept what I am capable of." Likewise, so that I might encourage you to see and believe in what you are capable of! CHEERS!
  8. How exciting HealthyLife!!! So close to the big day! Your energy and excitement is contagious! Your desire to run even faster, and personal choice to pace yourself means you are listening to your body and paying attention. Right ON! I bet you'll nail that 5K and I can't wait to hear about it!
  9. That's awesome Crash!!!! I love how you adjusted to suit your personal needs/goals!!!
  10. Right On(!!) RunFromClowns and Kelly!! Can't wait to catch up to you two! Chris, way to go!! And yes, it is cold!!!! I'm freezin' my tush (hopefully right off lol) right along with you! With you heart and soul and can't wait to hear more from each of you!!
  11. I enjoy reading how patient you are with your injury Tim. You'll get out there again and probably sooner than later since you are gently caring for your injury vs. ignoring. Hang in there! A walk and bike ride is still impressive!! Afterall, it IS the opposite of sedentary! Grats x 100!
  12. LOVE IT!! All of it!! "I am as real of a person as you are, and I love that everyone helps each other on here too. Cheering each other on." ~ KellyAnn It's so empowering isn't it!! I love your energy - I can sense the sincerity behind your posts, KellyAnn, and it uplifts and inspires me to follow suit! Cheers!! With you from afar, yet so near in heart!! Oh yeah ... FB ...another way to connect! I'll look you up! Ps. I like your signature too!
  13. Great question Darmtech! I can't wait to get to week 7 - congratulations on your progress!! You have successfully used C25k effectively, that is, you are out there running again, which is exactly what Josh Clark (a non runner to begin with) created Couch-to-5K for ... a starting point and ONLY a guideline. That said, if it is too slow ... absolutely adjust it so that it meets YOUR personal needs and goals. Here are two articles I had fun reading: How the Couch to 5k Running Plan Works No Pain, No Pain: The "couch to 5K" and Humane Design by Josh Clark Congratulations on completing a Marathon and 2 halfs! One of the most inspirational experiences, for me, was to be a part of my former husbands marathon run - simply being there and seeing him cross that finish line was life-affirming/changing! My hopes are to run a marathon eventually. I am certain I'll keep using these programs and will adjust as is needed. Can't wait to hear how you continue to do! Welcome to Zenlabs Fitness! Are you shooting for another marathon? CHEERS!
  14. "Exercise is your best defense" ~ John J. Ratey, MD

  15. Need a GREAT book to read? SPARK by John J. Ratey, MD. My jump start to C25K!

  17. Absolutely with you from afar, yet very very near in heart Whittle! Loved what you said, "I'm gonna do for myself and my "me" time will be focusing on working out." Right on! In regards to finding time: From past experience, I noticed when I made time to exercise, it ended up feeling as if I had time for everything else and my attitude was better to boot! Can't wait to hear when you begin! Hope you check out the Accountability 2015 forums and keep us all posted.
  18. Jinx! You owe me a coke Casa! I finished w1d3 too! With you heart and soul! Cheers!
  19. Missy, you got out there! THAT is a SUCCESS! And those successes (walking or jogging) will add up little by little. <3 Right on pampering yourself with a yummy sweet potato and hot bath!
  20. That you are focused on what you can do totally keeps me motivated -pressing on in spite of and because of!!! WayHAY to go Azatol! Yep, I wanna be like you when I grow up! teehee Keep at it! I hope to hear what you can continue to work on even if it is not running On the bright side, *Cheshire cat grin* ... it gives us newbies a chance to catch up to you! LOL
  21. added w1d3 at the top of my original post in order to keep it all in one spot. I'll change the subject title each run. I look forward to reading my progress, as well as keeping ALL thoughts shared - in one thread - for inspiration and tips now and later! "Stay the course, don't think about what others think - think about how much you are doing for yourself." Thank you Soculese!!
  22. OneFit, In spite of and because of all that you have been through, I am excited for you. I see a woman willing to take one tiny step forward and then another and another. I also notice your life-affirming humor! It is a must to laugh at ourselves at times, right! I am inspired; I am moved and I am also reminded to enjoy my small steps because they sure do add up! Thank you. You are a perfect example: · (paraphrasing what you wrote) Week one I started one block walking. Week 2, I was one block jogging, and then one week later I ran the Golden Gate Bridge! I was so exhilarated! I kept at this for 4 months and overtime I lost 45lbs! · “Taking my life back one mile at a time…” · “Right now I finished w1d2 and I can hardly breathe. It feels amazing ….” First of all … CONGRATS on w1d2!! You’ve already proven you can push past areas you strongly believed you disliked (running) AND you have certainly overcome the disturbing and shocking loss of a friend. I have no doubt in my mind you can overcome Fargo North Dakota’s bitter cold, your withdrawals and depression. Why? Cuz … you’ve already taken the first two steps. J I’m wearing big girl panties too! Mind you, it’s not as cold, yet my eyelashes froze on the first day, I sounded funny when talking; I was fearful I wouldn’t feel a snot-sicle forming , and I just finished W1D3! Can’t wait to hear what steps you take next! <3 CHEERS!
  23. Hi Shaa! Awesome! Can't wait to hear how you do!!
  24. Speaking of frozen ... I said to my 15 year old son on Monday, "Hey honey, my nose is numb. If you happen see a frozen icicle hangin' from the inside of me nose ... feel free to take a whack at it! I won't mind at all!" He rolled his eyes. *snickers* Frozen eyelashes feel so funny! So excited to run tomorrow ... it snowed last night!
