What do you do during the cool-down and the last minute?

Hi There, So, As a fitness instructor, when I cue for a cooldown, it means you slow down. In the 10K app, I walk. Sometimes if I am crazy, I will run the first two minutes of the cool down and then walk the rest. Cooldown, means cool down. YOU NEVER EVER want to just stop working out and go on and do something else. You can collapse. It is not a good idea. I walk, until the end. THen I usually do some stretching. Stretching is so important. '' It is not a stupid question and i am glad you asked it. I am sure there are others thinking the same thing. Ha, I am glad I am not the only one about the dark, lol. Run Safe. Sounds like you are working out other ways and having fun, that is what it is all about. enjoy

Hi There, Now for me???? I am a total wimp in the dark unless I have a buddy. But where I live in the country my life is in danger in the dark with all those animals out there, yikes. I would be running from scary looking eyeballs. lol Now if you can , maybe 1/2 before sunup where is almost light? Do you live in an area where there are lights? DO you have a gym or YMCA where they have a track? School where it is lit up?? I'm a woos, so dark out is not for me.. Look into those options. You can fit the 3 runs in on the weekend, but you risk losing ground if you are not working out the other days at all. If you are able to get at least 2-3 more workouts the other days, like weights, cardio, bodyshape,yoga, etc., then you might beok with running on the weekends. Or 2 on the weekends and 1 run during the week. In Nevada carrying a gun on our person is legal, when I run alone I carry a 22mag on my hip. But I am always nervous about it falling and shooting myself, lol - YIKES! So it is daytime running for me. You are doing great. Keep me posted. Happy Running!

Hi Hayley. I added you on Instagram. I have a few of the toes shoes, but i live in the country and those mountain shoes are not good on rocks, lol. I miss wearing socks.. I am now using them as water shoes when I kayak. lol Check out ASICS shoes, and maybe buy one size bigger.. Happy Running! -
Awesome Question, curious to the responses you get. I find myself more tired at night now but more energetic in the mornings. I hit the hay by 9, read til 10 and lights out. SNOOZE...... Sleep great. I used to take stuff to sleep , not anymore... Love how I feel..

Hi Hayley, I responded to you yesterday and I do not think it posted. Anyways, congrats on beginning. AS long as you have been cleared by a DR., then happy running. They do make those toe shoes now which are incredible. You could try those. We are all here for each other. There is an accountabilty group in the General Chat topic. Lots post there. There might be some that would love to follow you on instagram and be your buddy.. I will check ya out, but these forums are amazing and we are all in it together. Good luck and keep us posted. -

Hi Michele, welcome here. Good for you for starting. Incredible. These apps are greatfor keeping you motivated. There will be people who want to sabotage you. Listen to your body. I look at it this way. I am working out, getting my myself in shape, there will always be someone who says negative things. You do this for yourself. Proud of you. Keep us posted. Happy running.

Hey Lil Mama, Congrats on downloading the app. So stinking proud of you. That is the first step I am sure it is daunting as heck to begin. Baby steps, YOU DO NOT have to run at all, walk , walk fast. There are days when I do not run, I walk. If you are off the couch , then you are lapping anyone else sitting there. You can do this. It won't be easy, but if you are determined and set your mind to it, you can do anything you want to do........ I always tell myself, "How bad do you want it? I WANT IT BAD, so I will do anything now to get back in shape.....You can move mountains once the mind is set. You can start the app anyday you choose. 3 Days a week, the other days, do something else, like, lift weights (that gets you lean), walk again, do another day from the app, swim, bike, etc.... My advice is I love to workout 5 days a week, take the weekends off, or do fun activities for exercise....... Anyways, I will add more in a few, gotta run. HUgs to you all!

Hi Jacqi, Welcome here. Good for you for wanting to be healthy. So which part of the day do you think is good for you to work out? Do you want to workout in the am, lunch or evening? You can do this once you set your mind to it. You can eat healthy , it takes practice to pack healthy foods or even find them while out. I know that one. Nothing but junk food out there. When you eat healthy your body will love you and you will only want to eat that way. That is what we have done. We cheat one day a week and we do not even want to do that anymore. Is there anything I can help you with? Pack healthy lunches. You got this. Good luck!

Wow, what teacher says too, add another day? Running on a treadmill is way easier too. The belt helps you along. Sometimes our bodies need a break. I have to deal with altitude too.. I am at 5000 feet and it way harder, and when I am on a trip and it is sea level, i can run like forever, lol. How are you feeling now?

Hi Farmgirl and Mom37, Thanks Mom37, I will look into those. I have been buying the Xersion tops for years, bra in a top. THey are great. I hate tight anything, so I have even snipped the sides of the inside bra, and they dont jiggle much. I am annoyed that I used to buy these tops at JcPenneys all the time and now they are selling tops and bras seperate now. Glad I have a huge stash. Xersion is a great brand. I will def look in the shock one. thanks

On an elliptical annoying ramp and resistance
