Hey there , What I do is use MapMyFitness or MapMyWalk app and use that app in the background, it will coach you too so I just distinguish between the two. Or turn off the prompts in that app. It measures my distance.. I am sure there are other apps too. I think Zenlabsfitness has a running app pro?? Hope this helps, happy running!

Woo Hoo, Go Maya, I made an Accountabilty topic in the General chat and you can chat there too daily for what you did that day. SO proud of you.

You BET!! Hugs!

There then should be two apps on your phone, 1 is the Free one and One is the Pro version, you then delete the Free one. Search your phone for C25k pro and if it is not there at all, then you must contact where you bought the app from. If you ave downloaded it, then you should now have 2 apps.????? Let me know.

Hi MaryK, SO, you started the 10k app at week 9? Maybe push it back a few weeks and see if that helps? You are doing awesome!
-
Hi Momof4, Wow oh WOW! Congrats to you. You are doing awesome. Isn't a wonderful feeling knowing you did it?? Woohoo, Go Girl! Something that might help is during the day, even set a reminder, is to Breathe Deep, through your lungs, hold it, release. Do that for a few minutes. That might help. Happy Running and Congrats again!

Hi Ammi, You need to go to wherever you buy apps from and search for that app again and then buy the PRO version and delete the one you had. Hope that helps..

Starting Crossfit and Running from Scratch
KellyAnn replied to inkedfem's topic in Introduce Yourself
Hi EM, Welcome here. Crossfit is amazing, love it. If I wasn't so far out in the country I would def join a gym that does that. I do a lot on my own, so I am ok with that. For Cardio: ZenLabsFitness has great apps, C25k (couch to a 5k), is a great app to begin. We also have, 10k, 13.1k and 26.2k , ABS, Lunges, Pushup apps to help too. If you have never ran, then C25k is the way to go. It coaches you to run/walk, etc.. Love it. The more you do, the better and stronger you will become. Good Luck! -
Yay LouLou, you are doing awesome.

Hey MARYK, You are such an inspiration, You have inspired me. So what week did you start the 10k app with? Or did you just run? Great job.

Hi There, Welcome on here and excited you are here. Are you starting with the C25k app? It is a great way to start. There is also an ABS app, Lunges, Butt, Pushups, ZenLabs also. They are great motivators. I am on Week 4, Day 4 of the 10k app. I did not use the 5k one as I am pretty active. Start with that and that will be 3 days a week for you. On the other days life weights, there are great weightlifting apps too. I rest on the weekends, but If I am feeling great, then I run another day. You can do it and we are all here cheering you on. Now, do you have a spouse?. It would be fun for you to workout with her. Also, get the kids involved in eating healthy and playing outdoors, going hiking, etc.... Keep me posted, Good Luck!

Also, if you need help with food, download the Myfitnesspal app and there is a post on the Introduce page I think with all of us using it and you can add us as friends. It is nice to be held accountable by having friends.. I am loving it. Hi Eyeflier, Welcome back to you too.

Great advice from everyone. There are days when I feel like continuing on and I do 2 days back to back, but the next day I do that day over again. I try not to, if I am feeling crazy, then I ride my bike, weights, etc. Your body needs to rest and repair. I like what Juna and Shawna have said, You do not want to injure yourself. Years ago I was a maniac, but you now what?, the weight will fall off faster not being crazy. I have learned that less is more. I watched Biggest Loser last night and some of them were over 350lbs., While I love their end results, as a Personal Trainer myself, they had about 4 people seriously injured in the first show. I want to scream at the TV and tell them to slow down. One guy tore his Miniscus, One popped a muscle, well, if they wouldn't be training them so hard they would not become injured. Slow down, they will fall off just as fast. When someone loses 8lbs, they all cry and feel bad, SERIOUSLY??, 8 lbs is amazing. THe one guys who lost 38lbs. 38lbs?? can you imagine, thats mor than I want to lose and gosh, I f i could do that in one week, I'd be done, lol. But you lose more the bigger you are. Anyways, rant over. Do not over do it. I have learned that the hard way. One injury and you are sidelined for weeks. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi There, Randy, Good for you for finishing the app! So proud of you. If you have a hit a plateau then it is time to step it up a notch. Time for Interval training. Crossfit, etc.... I am not near a gym so I have to motivate myself. So when the app tells me to run, I will run really fast til I burst, then slow down my jog. Our bodies get used to one form of exercise and that is why we plateau. I am in the process of writng an ebook for weightlifting, but it is not done yet. So , there are some amazing apps for bodybuilding, lifitng weights, and on and on. If you go to a gym, seek help, if you cannot, like me, then check out those apps. They will guide you as you workout, I use them. Zenlabs has abbs app, butt, legs, etc... great tools. Now, whe it comes to eating. I am a BIG PALEO girl, with one huge cheat day a week. Search Paleo sites like Nom Nom Paleo, Primal Palate, my site is Cavegirlcancook.com, I have a few recipes, but I am just a homecook. Eating Low carb is the way to go for fast weightloss. Or, EATING CLEAN, think about it, Eating CLean, no processed foods, no junk, etc.... I do add rice and potatoes here and there, because it does get boring. Look online too for printable weightlifting documents, there are a lot out there. WE are all here for you cheering you on as you begin the 10k app.. You are doing amaing, keep it up. I find watching Biggest Loser and Extreme Weightloss and My 600 lb life incredible motivators for me... Good luck Randy!

Hi Kikie, Welcome on here. You have lots of friends on here to help you on your journey. Getting healthy before baby is so important, then when gain pregnancy weight it will not be so bad to get it off afterwards and keep it off. Your first step Is to figure out which workout is best for you? IT IS what you enjoy the most.. If it is walking, running, biking, dvds, etc.... Like me, I do not like to ride a bike (only around the block, not distance). I love to hike and walk, so there ya go. 1. Do the workout you love to do. 2. Start small then go big. 3. Cardio, Strength, Flexibility 4. Change your Diet. Now, i hate the word diet. UGGHH, Lifestyle Change, once you start eating healthy, your body will love you and crave it. I have pizza on Friday nights, healthy breakfast on Saturday mornings, a cheat meal for lunch (our out day usually), and back to healthy that night and the rest of the week. You can Cheat all day Saturday if you want, but we are Friday night Pizza people, always have been. Now i could cheat all day Friday, but I do 2 cheat meals a week and that is it. NOw the C25k app is great to start. You do not have to run when it says so, walk fast instead, repeat days when you want. These apps are awesome. 3 days a week is it, other days weight train and do anything else you love to do. Make sure you rest too, it is oyur bodys way of healing and building muscle. Good luck to you, we are here cheering you on. Hugs!
