just found this post of yours and all i can say is wow. I have no desire to run in a real race but you almost make me want to. I think you will do well in the races you have planned keep on running -
im in the same boat soon it will be not good to run outdoors and no way can i do gym membership and this appartment is too small for treadmill. I will go back to walking in cicles through the hall and rooms and jogging up and down the stairs but maybe it wont be as hard as last winter cause ive been running now i also hula hoop in the winter and strenght train with a few old weights and a chair and the internet and my own body. And i will dream of starting over in the spring. Good luck Steph83 where there is a will there is a way u will find some way to stay fit in bad weather and triumph in the spring and summer.

so happy to see Ruthie here. good to hear from everyone on progress i posted in injuries felt a pop on what i did today. anyway im bad when junk is around and at work for some strang reason (Halloween) there has been a lot around im up 5 pounds in a week and half pay day is friday so im going to stock up on some good substitute snacks for next week. (can we just say chocoholic)

my knees have always been strange odd pains in church when i kneel if i do it wrong scince my teens before i took up walking and then running they felt stiff in the front if i sit to long or dont fidget and change position authritis runs in family on moms side but 2 days before i poped my calf on my left leg my right knee did a funny twist thing as i stood up from the floor(i am an infant room teacher 6 wks-9months) it still feels off now and again but not when im running it deff gets stiffer than the left if i sit for more than half hr. I dont wear shoes much never have at work i wear those mesh chineese slippers at home im barfoot. i wear a lot of ballet flats or flip flops or crocks i bought some reebock running shoes when my walks got long and every foot gear i owned caused a blister somewhere when i started running i got a pair of thorlo sox. So my knee is so so im not sure what excersizes to do to strenghthen it/them i should google it some day thanks Jeshi for asking sory my response is a book -
thanks KellyAnne as soon as my leg went pop i stopped running and walked slowly to work. i spent most of the day with my leg up i read on the internet and on lots of posts what to do i did let dr check i had no swelling or bruising it was 2 days before i could walk normaly. Today i was suposed to re do w1d2 but was running late for work so i did a 5 min warm up then 2 2min runs with 2 min walks then a one min run with a 2 min walk and 5 cool down on lunch i only had half hr today so i did same as morning with one exta 2 min run if i had more time i could have run more. tomorrow is strenght day and i hope friday i can do a proper w1d3 and sunday i can start week 2 where i left off.

glad your brother is doing well also tell him thanks from me. Enjoy your own running i like to strength train on off days i also walk on my lunch break every day i fight the urge to run. keep us posted

if you want to do it you will many of us repeat runs till we feel comfortable then move on stay positive you can do it

i start walking slower and slower and concentrate on breathing then i strech

WOW! way to go Jeshi! you kept going like the energizer bunny. So proud of you. no more negativity u r the little engine that could. Not i cant not i think i can but i know i can and i knew i could . My redo of w1d1 was great i felt like i had good form head up mid foot strike no big stride nice even breathing no pain no injuries feeling happy today

yes you can do this. If my mom can quit smoking after 40 some years you can also take the running slow repeat days if you need to. read what others have posted it all helps
