  1. Good job guys. Don't be intimidated, you'll get through each run. I would have never thought that I be running for an hour straight.
  2. Good deal - you will be able to do this. Just find a pace that works for you and stick with the program.
  3. Mgmt it a bit more rock but they have a pretty fast beat; daft punk also works for me
  4. Give it a shot...running is work but once you make it a habit you'll find yourself enjoying it (hopefully). I got up at 4 am today and knocked out a 10K run. At the end of it I felt really good physically and mentally. Running is getting your heart rate up by jogging and walking. Even world class marathoners have walked during a race. So find what works for you.
  5. Good job, Ruthie. I hope you continue on to the 10K app; it's way more fun than the 5K app. Rob
  6. Finished week 12 with icing on the cake...hit 10K also. I'm pretty happy about this; I'm going to hang out at this distance for a few weeks until my muscles catch up.
  7. Welcome-it sounds like you have a plan. Running is mostly mental. Good luck.
  8. Tara, How is it going? Good luck with the program Rob
  9. You should consider seeing a doctor & getting checked out. My experience has been different during the first several weeks. I run at 4 to 5 in the morning, shower, walk the dog & get the kids to daycare. Even on those days I felt absolutely awake and with better mental clarity than when I was a couch potato. It could be over training or something else.
  10. Good advice; I started picking up the distance too fast & I started to get soft tissue pain on my right foot. I didn't think my cardiovascular endurance would outstrip my neuromuscular endurance.
  11. Every other day works pretty well. I found that my cardiovascular endurance is out stripping my neuromuscular endurance as the distances grow. My body needs an extra day to recover. I sure hope my body adjusts soon. Even with one day off I've noticed my pace is about 10 sec per km worse than when I take two days off.
  12. Congratulations!! Good luck with Week 4. Rob
  13. Wow! That is a great half marathon time. Good stuff!!
  14. Good job, it can seem pretty challenging but at each week your body gets a bit fitter and you can go just a bit longer. I'm on week 12 of the 10K app and I can run continuously for over an hour. I'm not quite at where I want to be weight wise but I imagine that it come as I continue to focus on what I eat.
  15. Way to knock it out...keep stringing the runs together & you'll be running 10K.
