Getting started is tough. I had declared to myself that I'm going to start today bit didn't. Then with out thinking about it I went running. Now I'm addicted to running. My mood sours when I don't run. It really helped me to log my weight and what I eat. The history tells the story. I've lost 20 lbs and an easy run ( light day) is 5K. When I started I couldn't have imagined that. You can do this.

I've seen running shirts that have pockets built in for water bottles. 30 degrees is tough, darn it!

Run/ walking is a key part of my program to stay fit. The other key part is diet. I have lost nearly 20 lbs since starting this (2.5 months ago) and I can run 10 km (6.2 miles). So I say it works. You have to make time in your schedule for this because it is so important; and you need running shoes that fit.

You may want check out the running techniques sticky. If it works for you a running clinic is a good investment. Where I live (Northern California), my health insurance offers running and walking clinics with the objectives being injury avoidance and performance improvement. YouTube also has some pretty good videos on drills and strengthening your core muscles (strong core muscles support a good running gait). Rob

Probably 2.5 km to 3 km.

Treadmill will work just fine. You should have a slight incline ~1 to 2%. You will have to experiment with different combinations on the speed setting since your level of fitness factors into this.

You did super - just keep moving; as long as you are moving you are helping your body. Repeating or walking through parts is totally cool. Making this commitment to yourself is the best gift you can give yourself.

Tatiana, good job. I'm glad for you. -
During the C25K portion, I ran every T & Th and running both days on the weekend. That worked really well for me since the weekend runs were relaxing. I finished the whole program in 6 weeks.

Welcome and good luck with program. Rob
