    craving to run

So this is weird for me, but I find that at least once a day, I think to myself I want to run everyday. I am only on week 4 of this program. I am amazed at myself, being overweight and generally unfit for the last decade. Even before that, I did not run. Like EVER. I am interested to know if anyone else is feeling especially inspired by running? Sorry if this is a little cheesey, I'm sorta embarrassed just writing it.

    W7 Done!

I finished week 7. Had a mild cold, but was able to make it through at a lower pace.

  3. sooooooo ........ Finished week 5 day 1 (has 3x5 min blocks) and was quietly nervous about the 8 minute blocks on day 2. Then someone mentioned a 20 min run - looked ahead to week 5 day 3 - sure enough a huge jump to 20 min run. Ok so now seriously shitting myself ....... Feels impossible given week 1 I struggled with any jogging at all! Wish me luck for rest of week 5

    My first running shoes!

Loved getting my first running shoes (wish they were flashier, but still loved it). It was amazing how perfect they fit when trying on shoes...like they were meant for me! Have fun showing 'em off and breaking them in tonight!

    Newbie Question

Thank you so much for your reply. I did my first day yesterday! And I couldn't stop grinning. I absolutely loved this. I did the first day inside my house on the porch. The porch is about 20-25 steps long. The only confusion I now have is how many miles I'm covering and what pace should I aim to jog at. Should I be running fast or simply jogging at a normal pace. I will try to calculate my heart rate tomorrow when I do Day 2. Thank you so much again.

I cannot believe I just ran 20 minutes!!! Okay, so it was slow, but holy smokes, no stopping! First try! Seriously, I'm a fat person. And I just did this. I am recommending this app to everyone I know.

  10. Hey Rob - repeated wk4 day 2 today YAY finished. I slowed the last 5 min run section right down but finished. Only error of judgement today was being Sunday my only day off work I slept in and ran mid-morning - NEVER AGAIN oh my god the bloody flies! I was swatting and swerving I think I swallowed one ! Onwards to day 3 Tuesday morning (early!). Thanks for asking how I'm going also.

  12. I'm rapt - to understand my celebration know I am 47 overweight and never run in my life. I did week 1 last week and was SOOOO PETRIFIED about running (jogging/shuffling) 90 second blocks. But I read the advice on here - cranked up my iPhone with Meatloaf, and DID NOT LOOK AT THE TIMING ...... Concentrated on the running and music and looking at the river, gardens, birds ....... IT WORKED !!!! Smashed it easier than I thought. Yayyyyyyy. 8.8 weeks to go lol

    craving to run

Netty, I'm surprised at my own willingness to run as well. I had a fear of running and had resigned myself to being a person "who just can't run." Now, I'm hyped up and feel the craving at least once a day! Yay!

    craving to run

I was a confirmed couch potato but I'm in week 6 now. And surprise! I find myself wanting to run more, too. It's magic. That's what it is!

  15. Thanks for your support, I think I will have to repeat fairly often as the runs get longer, but I do know I am recovering quicker, just need the council to flatten a 5k stretch of road to make it easier. Ha ha
