  1. Just finished training for a 5k with the C210k app. It feels good to start running again.
  2. I had my left ankle injured a month back and had a swollen foot for few days. The pain was really high for few days and after which the swelling and pain reduced comparatively. But the pain does sustain now and it gets worse when I get a small twist or something like that while walking. My right ankle also had a similar problem but is not intense as this. Is running with these ankle injuries okay for my feet or will it make the situation worse. I would love to hear from you guys.
  3. Heyo! I'm Zach and 15. I had heard that getting into better shape and, especially running, can help alleviate dysphoria. I thought this app would be perfect to try to help out with dysphoria, with the added bonus of maybe losing some weight too.
  4. What is the significance of running over gyming? I feel working hard in gym is way more better than running on treadmill or down the lane.
  5. Hello everyone. I'm so excited to do this program again with support from the community. I followed the c25k method about a year ago and didn't even know about the app. I'm 19, vegan, pregnant, and absolutely love running. I'm trying to ease back into it now that the worst of the first trimester has passed. I look forward to talking to lots of you, and hope to make a few running buddies along the way!
  6. I have found since I took up running & especially since I managed the 5K mark that my leg muscles seem uncomfortably tight, I am guessing some of you find this too. I found this yoga video on YouTube & it really helped, even after just the one session which given my muscles were tight was not easy, lol! Check it out https://youtu.be/of2spyCtUkw Hope it helps
  7. Hi there, not really an injury as such however this seemed the best place to post. I'm at the 5K mark finally but I find the thighs are really tightening when running & so it's making it harder than it should be to do the 5K, also finding the inner calf muscle on my right leg is tight & a bit uncomfortable. I finished my run 5 hours ago and yet still feel tight. I do my warm up & cool down as the app suggested but any other suggestions would be good. Thanks

    Knee Pain

Hi all, finally made it to the 22 minute stage which I am really pleased with, 25 tomorrow!!! In the meantime my knees really ache after today's run, my sports massage person is coming Friday so hope she can sort it out but in the meantime is there anything I can do to help it? Thanks
  9. Hey there! My name's Tyler and I'm a trans guy, working to get in shape for DCI (Drum Corps International) and the upcoming WGI season. I was a runner awhile back but fell off the pattern when the marching band season (12 hour days and then once school started 3+ hour rehersals) began, so I'm excited to pick back up! Drum corps is my main reason for running, because you have to be insanely in shape and even if I'm not auditioning this year it's good to get started! Feel free to ask me anything or talk about DCI and WGI with me!
  10. I have never been fit in my entire life, and I'm ready to make the change to a healthier lifestyle. I'm getting married next June and want to look and feel the best I ever have. I hope I can do this..
  11. Just realized I'm on Week 1 Day 2 and I haven't introduced myself. How rude. I'm Samantha but people just call me Sammy or Sam. I'm 19 and from the little Caribbean country of Belize. I'm 5'5"/5'6" and weigh 160lbs. Always stays the same cause my metabolism absolutely refuses to stray from what it's used to. That stubborn little twitch. I'm aiming for 128, and I want to maybe keep it there for the rest of my life. So what do I need? A lifestyle change. I need to KICK my metabolism forward and ORDER it to change. So I shall become a hardcore runner.. and a healthy eater.. and maybe join the k
  12. Hi guys. I've got a question. A week ago I finished the c25 program, and tried to start the c10,but I'm not ready So I'm going to ask: can I improve the number of training days in the week (for example 5 days) instead of improving the length of the training? Will it be useful?I'm going to run only because I need to lose weight,in fact thanks to this program I lost 8 kg in 2 months.
  13. Hey everyone! Just a post to make things public, and wanting to declare it to myself infront of the world. To be honest, I do feel very embarrassed to share this on Facebook etc, where people know who I am. I do hold a lot of anxiety, as I have tried to have support buddies, but they got lazy and Ended up bailing out... Or when I do something or even just post about exercise my best mate thinks I am making a personal attack on her because I am "capable"? ... Don't get me wrong, lovely person however she makes her self out to be very mentally disabled and self sabotages. For example,
  14. I'm a 29 year old mother of two, and when I started running, a smoker. I started running when I realized I needed something to stop cravings, I'm a former drug addict (7 months sober). So since I had not run in 11 years, it was hard to do, but I pushed through it. Where I live , in Missouri, It's very hilly and I find that to be a good thing. Anyway, I quit smoking cigarettes in May 7 and running has become much easier. I've cut a full minute off my mile and all cravings have stopped. I can't wait to run my first 5k. If I can do this, anyone can.
  15. Hey there I am 33 years old, 87 Kilos, 1.78 and I am trying to lose around 8-10 Kilos (and i want to reduce my body fat) My main workout is Running, I am running almost everyday for 45 min, around 5 kilometers (and from time to time I am doing P90X, Kenpo x) and I am a little bit confuse about the intensity of my running Some places I heard that I should run slow for a long time for maximum fat lost and some other places I heard that I need to run fast (small sprints) to lose maximum fat what is the right method? * Plus I am taking my diet very seriously since I know I need t
  16. Hi! My name is Ashley and I would love for you to check out my story of going from Fat to Fit! I'm still on my journey and the blog is my way of sharing my story, the ups and downs, to help me and to help others. I recently wrote about my struggle of seeing and enjoying the progress I'm making instead of focusing on all of the work that still needs to be done. Please check out my story by clicking the link below: https://abeautyandbeard.wordpress.com/2015/01/29/struggling-to-enjoy-progress/ You can also check it out on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/abeautyandbeard
  17. I don't want to say I'm looking for cheap shoes, because I need good quality shoes. But $ is an issue; I run cuz I can't afford a gym membership or fancy workout program. That being said, what brand of shoes have given you the best bang for your buck? What shoes have you tried that reduced the most shin pain?
