  1. Hi Kitty. Proud of you for getting out there. Maybe just do the hilly run here and there and try and increase your stamina with them. Im so used to running hills here. It will be good to try some hills as any race you enter might have some. I get a kick out of running at low altitude, i can run forever as I train at 5800 feet. Maybe try some speed drills. Never worry either. Try and run a hill, walk some of it, and you will get stronger. Good luck!!! Leg me know how you do.
  2. Hi there to you and Welcome. You will be just fine. You are already at week 6 and I totally can do it. Ive never heard of a race saying you had to be at a certain speed? How are you running now??? When I was at my fastest ever I was doing a 9 minute mile. Of course as i have gotten older, I am way slower now. Wayyyyy slower. Like 12-15 minutes. Sooo you will do awesome. Leg us know how it goes!!! Good luck.
  3. Absolutely. You got this. Welcome and we are here for you!!!
  4. Hey sweetie Tatiana, I has the Fitbit Surge for a year after haing all the fitbits. Lol. I am an OCD Gadget Girl. It stopped working after a year, called Fitbit amd proved I bought it within a year from Amazon. They sent me a brand new Fitbit Surge. So cool. Great company. I sold it on Ebay for $200. I bought an Apple Watch and will bever go anywhere else again. It depends on what you want it to do. Disclaimer - I am not selling a product, it is my opinion. Fitbit is great. Im such a Gadget Queen and half to have the latest product. Love my watch. I dont like everyone knowing how many steps Indo everyday, and Fitbit and Myfitnesspal are too nosey for me. I can be incognito with the watch. Lol. I saw on Fitbit where some people had 50,000 steps a day. Ok, did you put it on your dog??? Lol. I am really active and even with a broken foot I get 2-5 miles a day in my own house. Thats about 6000 steps. 50,000 steps is not real. Ok. Maybe working at a chain store all day but.......... Hope this helps you. Cost is an issue , so you have to decide that. But I would not trade my Watch for anything different. Hugs!!!

  16. Hi there MissBird. Welcome. So, do you have hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism???? Gaining weight with a thyroid is difficult to have to deal with. Does your Dr have you on any medication??? Or have you seen a Dr.?? There are great articles explaining both hypo and hyper on the internet and I am sure you Dr, has told you about it. Losing weight with an underlying illness can be troublesome for anyone. These apps are great and if you can combine healthy eating with running, you should see a difference in your body in just a few short weeks. Please ask your Doctor lots of questions and as much as I hate any medications, he/she might recommend something for your thyroid issue. I found this article that might be helpful to you: http://www.empoweryourhealth.org/magazine/vol4_issue2/Thyroid-and-Weight-Loss-or-Weight-Gain Please keep us posted and we are here cheering you in. Im curious to hear from you. Good luck to you and Happy Running!!
