  1. Don't look too far ahead just achieve your goals today! It is too scary otherwise. X
  2. You will be running 20km a week before you finish week 8.
  3. I have decided not to focus too much on time as I have done the 5km in the 30 minute time frame once. Many running journals say that aim for a personal best once or twice a month but go your own pace in between. Mix up with interval training and longer distances ready to aim for your next personal best. You will plateau.
  4. If I am planning a morning run I get my gear ready the night before so all I have to do is fall out of bed into my running gear.
  5. Week 4 is a tough week but it is good to be half way!!
  6. I live rural so mostly do trail running. I find it great and not so hard on my joints as road running. I do run slower though as I have to watch my feet a lot more. I am trying to mix it up with some road running - especially when it has been raining and the trails are too muddy.
  7. Uphill 2.5km walk and back. Averaging 30 km a week between runs and walks. Feeling fit and healthy. Have last day to go on week 8 and had no weight loss but have dropped a clothing size. Just so I am not disappointing anyone - I am within my healthy weight range anyway and would just like to drop a few kilos. Just because someone is not overweight doesn't mean they are fit and healthy. I am feeling great!
  8. Week 8 day 2 done - even slower than day 1 but done anyway!
  9. I tried different armbands with Little success and now use a running belt I got off eBay. It's big enough for phone, keys and tissues. Has a hole for earphones and fits 2 small water bottles that came with it. Was only around $25. Really comfortable to wear.
  10. I couldn't image not running outside - tried a treadmill once and didn't like it.
  11. Yup - my run times have also become my sanity break away!
  12. I have 9 kids and getting through this slowly but surely. On the tough days they are my finishing line and the reason why I need to take care of myself. X
  13. Looking forward to hearing more of your journey - go for it!
  14. Week 7 day 2. Fastest times ever. 4km in 25 minutes. 5km in 32 minutes. Different running surface and hills. I tend to run at least one minute a km faster in the afternoons - anyone else find this? Maybe I am better fueled then?
