  1. So the last several weeks i have been thinking about working out. Its really challenging i haven't been this out of shape in a while. I prob have worked out maybe three months this whole year and had managed to gain thirty pounds. I hate this i hate how i feel. I feel blah..and out of sorts..i keep thinking I'm going to work out but can't seem to make it that point. I downloaded the 10k app. I'm hoping joining you guys will give me the motivation to get going instead of having tons and tons of excuses. I have a stressful job and started smoking casually again a few years ago and now im back to four and five a day. I need to find some way to get control of my life again. I have at least a good 60pounds to lose. Im hoping to find a support community here...thanks for reading

  2. During the C25K portion, I ran every T & Th and running both days on the weekend. That worked really well for me since the weekend runs were relaxing. I finished the whole program in 6 weeks.

    Brand new and terrified

Welcome, Free2bme! I'm so glad you joined us. I was in a horrible place before I started c25k; honestly, it changed my life. Open the app 3 times a week and do the program to the best of your ability and it will change your life, too. Feel free to open a thread in the "Accountability" section and post your updates. You'll find a lot of encouragement and support on this forums. I want to hear how your first session went: Week 1, Day 1.

    Can l do this

Hi all Im middle aged and are going onto day 3, just a beginner. I also have started Crossfit and part of crossfit is running, sometimes upto 1600 mts. No all in one go. But increments. So can manage 400mts in one go, but with the feet dragging along the road. So in order to help myself l was recommended this app. So far its been a great little motivated app, just when my lungs are struggling for air in the run l hear that wonderful dong and walk for 90 seconds. It keeps me going along with my little dog that runs and walks along side me 85% of the time. If she can do it then l can. Without this apo l found l would run then walk, but easily drop the ball when my lungs started struggling, not anymore, not sure how l will go week four or five. The potential is there for more strides forward rather than backwards. So heres hoping l can do this before knees give me trouble.

  7. Hi! I'm going through trying to lose weight as well. I used to be 230 and now weigh 220. I'm stuck though. I think I lost 10 pounds by cutting out gluten completely and also trying to eat the Paleo diet. Tomorrow I'm starting to drink 1 gallon of water a day, I heard that helps a lot.

I haven't ran since my last post. I still get on and read though. Work has been nuts. On 30 minute break right now. Good thing is I still have room hustle pretty hard running back and forth at work. So I take advantage of it. Not getting winded anymore. Saturday morning going to hit w8d1. Good job on finishing ruthie. I am by no means quiting

    Week2 Day1

I think I found all stage a big step till the end of week 5. Just getting of my butt to run was huge, the second week was a bit scary too. The more experienced running here say it's best to give your legs rest day before running days, so don't walk to strenuously. Not that I did, but its better to do some form of strength training on the off days. That way your muscles can keep up with you...
