Every other day works pretty well. I found that my cardiovascular endurance is out stripping my neuromuscular endurance as the distances grow. My body needs an extra day to recover. I sure hope my body adjusts soon. Even with one day off I've noticed my pace is about 10 sec per km worse than when I take two days off.

I know right! I actually enjoyed the 20 minute run, wasn't easy but it was achievable and enjoyable!

  9. Hello everybody! I thought I posted something on this thread yesterday, didn't i? I was praising Azatol for his determination as with such obstacle I would have probably have a good enough excuse to give it up, although.. I'm not so sure, this is very addictive, i hope your knee gives up and stops playing up Azatol, and thank you for telling everyone about it, this is definitely inspirational to all those who don't have a good enough excuse and opt for giving up. A few weeks ago I posted the question "should I run when in pain?" Well, today my left shin was pulling and burning again, I was thinking I should give up running if it became worse, but as you once told me "it goes away when you keep running" so I'm glad I didn't give up, it was my second 4k or 2,5 mile run and it felt very good, a lot easier than the last one, but I have to admit, I was well prepared, I even brought the big fan to blow on my face, it feels awful when the sweat drops go down your face..

  10. Thx Anne and Rob, yep u bet I liked that time. I was so happy it nearly brought me to tears. The best part is that I think I could do better. My heart and lungs handled it no problem my average hr was 151. Don't get me wrong it was a punishing run. My legs took a big toll. Muscle, ligaments definitely feet and ankles hurt. I do believe it comes down to body conditioning. Keep putting in the miles and your body will get used to it.

  12. Surprising results at the physical therapist. Everything looks fantastic. My dorsiflexion is 20 which is huge. Hips and calves and everything are loose with great range of motion. It's just a simple bruise that's healing. Additionally he told me it's fine to run. He said that it's actually good stress he wants on the knee but I need to avoid bad stress. Bad stress is running hard, running hills, lunges(aside from warmup and cooldown), squats, step ups, stair climbing(up and down) and running multiple days in a row. I need to avoid all those things for a couple more weeks but keep running so I'm going to a Mon, Thu, Sat routine for a couple of weeks. Ran an easy 3 tonight and it felt great.

Guess what! I managed The infamous w5d3 yesterday! It really wasn't as hard as I had initially thought a couple of weeks ago, Azatol, you were right, it's all in the mind! I had some extra energy and continue for a couple more minutes beyond the 20 minute mark. I did it against what I think was my better judgement, with my sore back because I didn't want to have to repeat days or go backwards. It didn't seem to aggravate it, which was great, but it hasn't improved much yet. A thread about back pain mentioned that it's due to the fact that our bodies are just getting used to exercise and the cure for it is exercise, any thoughts? http://forums.zenlabsfitness.com/topic/2206-back-pain/#entry11313
