  1. I have ALWAYS HATED running! But as I've become more obese over the years I am wishing I could run. I have two young teens that I can't keep up with. They like to go out...and I don't - not in my current physical condition. 5'8" 320 lbs. For my build 180 is healthy. That's 140 lbs overweight! I'm carrying myself plus a whole other human being. Its time to change and get to moving! I am a single Christian paraprofessional (finance and accounting) mom. I don't have any family and my circle of friends is very small. And they do not have the same goals health wise at this point. I am hoping to connect with others that are like minded for mutual support/encouragement/accountability. Wishing each of you success in all your endeavors!

  3. Hiya everyone! I'm 18 (Senior year!) and have a little too much extra "lovin'". Quick back story: I use to be obsessed with running when I was a Freshman. I actually would run almost every day Freshman year; on a normal day I'd run atleast 3 miles and on crumby days I'd push myself to 5.5 miles. I was a fitness junky. I always had to be doing something active. I played soccer, tennis, volleyball, basketball, and ran both cross country & track. Last school year (Junior year) I went from weighing 128 lbs. to weighing 159.6 lbs. within barely 2 months. I got depressed and everything went down hill. I'd burn maybe 600 calories during the day but would come home after school and consume 4,000 calories... So my tiny body stretched out. I've dropped all my weight (down to 135 lbs.) but nothing is in shape like it use to be. I have almost lost all motivation for anything regarding fitness. I'll get on big health kicks and they'll last for a month or so then go 4 months without doing anything. I miss being active and the excuses I've been feeding my brain is "I'll do it tomorrow." & "I just need someone to push me." and they're not doing anything for me. So here's the purpose of this thread. I'm looking for someone to be a "running buddy" (someone to do the same thing the same day as me or even yell ((nicely)) to do my daily run) and really we don't have to be on the same progress. If anyone is interested please let me know! I'm not sure what time I'm doing it tomorrow but most likely it'll be early (10-ish East Coast Time). And if someone is looking for a buddy or encourager as well let me know, I know I'd love someone for that and I'd gladly help someone with it!! Sorry for the long post! Xoxo

  5. You mummas with babies please don't push yourself too much. It take a good year or so for your body to recover after birth and pregnancy - more so if you have had a c section. If you are breastfeeding please drink lots - your bubba needs their milk. Speaking as a doula and mumma of nine kids. X

  9. Hi there and welcome! I've always hated running as well but as I've progressed with the program I'm beginning to enjoy it. earlier in the program, When I did struggle(and trust me there were plenty of those moments) I would be constantly praying and asking God's Strength to keep me from passing out! Looking forward to reading about your progress and all your successes and God bless!! You can do this, just keep putting one foot infront of the other!! ◡̈

  10. Georgia, good for you getting started!! That's usually the hardest part. Was for me anyway. That's the best thing about this app, it constantly challenges and pushes you, and there are a million people cheering you on! I usually run religiously every other day M-F and sometimes Sunday's, so I'll check in on you often :-) You got this!

    Battery drain

I've got an iPhone 5 that's 2 years old. I run a Bluetooth Fitbit HR and a few month old Bluetooth ear buds while running. I listen to my offline playlist with spotify and my c25k app that stays on because if I lock my phone the app stops. I have a feeling that because my phone is literally "on" the whole time that's what's draining it. Is there anyway to lock my phone and the app keep talking to me?

  13. I had the same problem. For me, a sluggish digestion was the issue. One half teaspoon each of cumin, coriander and ground fennel as a tea in hot water twice a day helped 80%. Fiber solved 10%. Changing the habit was the last but hardest 10%. Good luck.

  14. Theresa, what I have found that helps the absolute best for me is Quest bars. They are loaded with protein and fiber, which will most certainly keep you full for a lot longer. Also consider white or oolong teas, as they'll also keep your metabolism burning and ready to go for anything

    Advice on sports bras?

I use the Panache sports bra - I would really recommend going to a bra shop to get fitted. There's one specifically for sports bras for DD and up where I live that has SAVED my life! They get you on a treadmill and really let you see how you feel!
