Does it get easier?

Thanks everyone!  I actually came down with a really nasty cold last weekend and am just getting over it, so I was out of commission for a few days.  I'm going to try repeating W1D2 tomorrow, and W1D3 on Saturday.

Salamander - how long did it take you to get up to a 13.1?

What I like about this program is small goals every week. When I started I choose very small pace for both walk and run. I was so afraid of failing....After week 5 I was sure that I can finish the program and at the end of the week 7 I started making 5k distance every time. Now it is week 8 and I slowly increasing my pace.

I am 55, obese (BMI 32.2), high blood pressure and sugar, back pain and other stuff.  So the program is doable even for me.

Stick to the program, but listen to your body (and ignore your mind ;) ). If you cannot run - walk. it is better then sitting.

Everyone starting out on the couch starts that way.  Your body is rebelling at the idea of having supply oxygen to a body in motion.  It *does* get easier - that's why the increases are comparatively small early in the C25K program.  Your body has to get the idea of what your "new normal" is going to be - and you're going to be stretching that out while it adjusts.  It's not a cakewalk, but it's far from impossible.  I'm sure there are dozens of people on these forums that will repeat the line I tell everyone around here - "If I could do it, you probably can as well" - because, believe me, I was pretty firmly on the couch last year.

Just wanted to update: I have W5D2 tomorrow, and I'm psyched! I've actually been able to complete all of the running intervals thus far. Slowing down has helped SO much. Hopefully I can work on speed in the next couple of weeks :)

How is everyone else coming along?

Tomorrow is W8D3 - I can't even believe it! I just had to re-read my first post because I still can't believe I made it this far - and feeling pretty good! I'm a little slower than a 10:00 mile, but not by too much. I'm planning to run 5k 3 times next week, and then I'm going to start the 10k app!! I really want to thank everyone here for their support - it was a big help
