Wow! Feeling invincible! Got a new pair of running shoes and it improved my time by 30 seconds on the mile. Seriously could not believe the difference a pair of shoes made. I am so confident that I will finish this. I was never really in this for the racing but I am thinking about signing up for a 5k next month. I am hooked!1 point

W5D3, done! I NEVER thought I'd be able to run for 20 minutes straight, but when it was over, I'm sure u could have run even farther. The only thing I didn't like about it was I did it on the treadmill, thanks to the 5" of snow we got yesterday. This program really works!1 point

Hello Clare. I don't know where you're from but I have travelled the world a bit and have noticed that different countries cook and prepare vegetables differently, my personal opinion about British cuisine is that it is all very basic and blandly cooked when it comes to vegetables, take a look at the Sunday roast, fish&chips+mushy peas.. It can be a bit boring, that's why Brits generally aren't big fans of vegetables.. I've tasted salads made out of vegetables I've never been offered in an English restaurant menu, you just need to give it a twist, experiment and find out what you like. Take for example green beans, cook them well in salted water, transfer to a pan, add a bit of olive oil and vinegar, delicious! Not a fan of vinegar? What about fried onion or garlic on top of roasted vegetables? It completely changes the taste, you should try, just think of what you like first and then just cook your veggies according to that. Somebody replied to you at the top that you should just give it a try, I agree, I've been a juice and fizzies drinker for many years, I don't anymore, I Sri k coffee and tea a all the water I can, that's it and no longer enjoy artificial drinks, when I'm thirsty I can only think of water, I guess the same happens with food, just introduce vegetables so many times a week, you'll see at some point you won't be able to have it any other way. Lots of luck1 point

Going slower is the trick. As you add distance your pace gets slower. It's that way for us all. Going slow makes you go long.1 point

I've discussed the elliptical with my physical therapist and he's ok with it. It's a less than 90 degree bend and due to the ergonomics there is no load or shock to the knee. It's more comfortable than cycling at the moment and I need to do something to expel energy <G> Today I ran 9 miles and felt great. The knee doesn't feel bad tonight. I think 5 or 6 days off will do it a good servixe1 point

Thanks guys - yes azatol my dream is just to complete a 5km run first - then improve my times. But I'm starting to enjoy running and as I get fitter I might extend to 10km although that is way down the track. It was beyond my wildest dreams 8 weeks ago I would get capable of doing a 5km run but now I'm running 28 mins I think realistically I can get to 5km. Medals definitely not a consideration - just personal development . Thanks again1 point

Today was day 1 for me. I used to run 8 miles a day, but broke 4 toes & never started back. I'm way out of shape now & 60lbs over weight. Day 1 was tough! But I'm excited to stick with the program & get back to running. I registered for a half marathon in mid-March, and this will help me get there:)1 point
