GSDMom
My name is Chelsea, 27 yeaes old, from Northern Ohio . I have a 6 month old German Shepherd who I want to start running with. I'm slow, have never been successful at running. Last winter I made the decision to start the process of weightloss surgery. Had Gastric Sleeve surgery on June 1st. My highest weight was in February at 315. Surgery day I was 295. At 4 months and 2 weeks, I'm currently around 235. If you don't agree with the choice that I've made please don't comment. I get enough negativity in my regular everyday life, I don't need it on here as well. GSDMom

HobohemianGirl
Chelsea, Fantastic. I'm about 235 too. It takes a lot of get up and go at our weight. I'm 48, so that takes a bit extra, too! Good luck! This is my third time trying a program like this, and will be the 2nd I'll complete!!!! Good luck!! Jeshi
Chelsea, don't fret about being slow. Everyone (including some of the world's fastest runners) feels that they are slow. The elite runners actually train at a slow pace so they can run even farther. This app will help you build endurance to help you run longer. Don't worry about distance/speed right now. The running posture in the attachment really helped me with my shin splints (something I've suffered my entire life). Now, I'm pain free, but still very sore as my muscles are working to support my weight. I'm glad you're here and I hope to hear about your runs! Azatol
f you don't agree with the choice that I've made please don't comment. I get enough negativity in my regular everyday life, I don't need it on here as well. The choice of yours I disagree with is the choice to call yourself slow Don't identify yourself as such, You're way faster than the person who chose to sit on the sofa and watch tv reruns. Running is a mental game. You're a runner. Not a fast runner, not a slow runner. Just a runner. It's an awesome thing to be!! Pat yourself on the back and go run. If you find that you have more time per mile to enjoy your surroundings than some other runners. consider yourself lucky <grin> Jeshi
