Well, welcome Kim. We are all in this together. How can we help you? What can we do? Let's chat.
  5. Keep your Chin up. I ran with with my kiddos when I lived In Holland. It was the way of life there. You need this for yourself. They can jump in at the end. You can do this. Start off small and keep going. Lets do this.
  6. Awesome 49, you are amazing. Way to rock it. I don't run every day tall. 3-4 times a week is it for me. Weight lifting the other days. Super proud of how you are moving up higher in the apps. We are all so proud of you. Keep it up.
  7. Awesome Beachgirl (name?, lol), What is Triometrics? I am familiar with the Beachbody workouts , but not that one? Never heard of it. I love Insanity, Combat30, T25 and these running apps, cant ever get any better than that. I am a mover and a shaker, so Yoga and Pilates are not for me, I am way to active. I do yoga usually a little after every workout to stretch but to take a class, I would die, lol.. I am outdoors hiking, walking, biking, running when it is not to hot out. Indoor with DVD's when the weather is not good.
  8. There is nothing in the world like looking in the mirror and knowing you are accomplishing your weight loss goals.
  9. Hi There, I am checking in with everyone today! How was your workout if you are finished this morning? Or, what wll be your workout later?? I worked out to an AB DVD, and my friend and I lifted weights, Upper Body, Lower Body, ABS! Tonight we have a Peak training class at the school, I cannot wait. 3 Days a week we do the 10k app. My friend and I are both bound and determined to get this weight off. I do not think I have been this motivated in forever. Have a Great day, and get your workout in!

Hey all, I will definitely send off an email to address this question for everyone. I do not see it on mine. I will keep you posted.
  11. I remember years ago when I was in the best shape of my life ever, I would run an 9 minute mile, those were the days. I now do about 14 minutes, that is with a run/walk too. I could do a 5K in 27-30 minutes. SHEESH RIGHT??? I am older now and I do not think I will ever run that fast again, nor do I want to, but my goal right now is 11-12 minutes. Weekly, including Hiking, I average around 15-20 miles a week. Have an awesome day!
  12. Hey there, Most times your feet will hurt. I would look into shoes. Cheap shoes are not the way to go. I am i love with Asics, Avia, New Balance, Nike, in that order. Amazon has great ones for sale, I buy from there, but I am way out in the country so town is an hour away for me. I just bought new aerobic shoes for Peak training class tonight. I buy new shoes twice a year. Donate my old ones. I will do some research today! Have a good one!
  13. Hey Candace, Nice to meet ya! I am so excited for your race coming up! I am getting my butt in shape right along with you! Have an awesome day yourself!
  14. Hi there. Shin splints are in the front of the lower leg. Does the pain start there??? What shoes are you running in? The only thing that I can think of is your shoes. Maybe try walking fast for a few days and build up the muscles in your legs first?? If it is pain check with your Dr about it, especially if it is recurring. I'll do some research today and maybe someone else had had the same issue??
  15. Hi there. Welcome to the forums. We are all root for each other on here. Awesome for you to lose 55lbs so far. Aren't the apps amazing??? I love it. Great motivators. What is your name??? When is your race???? Have a great day!
  16. Way to go Farmgirl. We are all here to cheer you on. Any help you need, just ask. The first step is the biggest in wanting to change. I always say I'm on the Love Diet, cuz I'm in love and that's why I'm fluffy. Lol. You bet anyone can do this and you are doing it. As you work out more and more, you will want to change your eating habits. But it's one step at a time. Good for you for giving up smoking. I quit in 1998 and never looked back. Keep us posted please on here. So proud of you. Lets do this!
  17. My breakfast is usually 2 eggs and 2 pieces of bacon. Fruit to follow. String cheese for a snack, lunch I usually eat meat and a salad. A protein bar mid afternoon or celery and peanut butter. Dinner is meat, veggies , I'd do add rice and potatoes once I awhile. I am human and we all get bored. One day a week we cheat. Cheating really helps too. Sunday through Friday we are reallly good. I have lost 10lbs. I do believe in eating clean for the most part. You won't want junk food very much as it makes you feel I'll after you've been eating clean. We love our cocktails on the weekends but now feel, like we keep losing and gaining it back every week. So now the hubby and I are back on no cocktails at all. That I miss the most, lol. But I am soooo committed to losing more weight. ASAP. No more sabotage. It's no fun anymore anyways drinking. Ugghhh. I am determined to lose this weight for good. I have some Paleo recipes on my site at Cavegirlcancook.com. Also there are great books out there to on Paleo. I love Paleo as I'm not a big sugar eater. Never have been. You have to do what is right for you. I am not a Dr., so check with your Dr first. I just try it all so I know. That's me. I rotate my breakfast, eggs one day, a shake another day, juice one day, etc... Depends in my mood.
  18. Rc49, if you feel like you are ready for the 13.1 app and want to try it. Go ahead. Don't set yourself back by training too hard. If the 13.1 works, then go ahead. Repeat days if you have to. I started with the 10k app and not the c25k. But that's me. Great job for wanting to move on up. Have you tried the 10k app at all?

  20. It is up to you where you want to go with the apps. Couch to a 5 k c25k is Just that. From the couch as a beginner and train for a 5 k. When you graduate from that you then move on to the 10k app. Then 13.1 and so on. I started with the 10k app as I've always worked out and the 5k was too slow for me. I'm not a beginner. Download the app and try it and see if you are ready for it. Anyone else done this and can give advice to him for jumping from the 5k all to the 13.1???? I am sure there are others who have. I would love to see of anyone else has done this.
  21. This is strange as i posted to this this morning. I wrote a lot too. Thats weird. Anyways. You said you are working with a trainer?? Thats great. Make sure you check with the trainer first. If you are a beginner there is an app called C25k. (Couch to 5k). Especially made for anyone beginning to run. It coaches you at intervals. Run/walk. Its an absolute great app. I am on the 10k app. We are all here for you on your journey. Keep me posted.
  22. Hey there, I do not know how to announce you ALSFroggie, We have a lot of friends who did the 4Hour Body Diet. They have a book out on it. It is basically Meat, Veggies, Beans, no fruit, and one major cheat day once a week. I have done this and it is a good one. I do like my fruit so I LOVE the Paleo Diet for me. I am not a DR., but you can choose what you want to do. Seek help from a DR., if you can first. I will not recommend any diet for anyone, only give you a little guidance. Ask me any question you want to! Thanks
  23. Hi Everyone, I am here to introduce myself to you today. My Name is Kelly and I have been added as a Moderator here. I am super excited about this job. I have been into Fitness for over 20 years. I love it. My husband Keith and I are 'Empty Nesters" as of 2010. We love it. WE both stay pretty active with Riding our Harleys, Hiking, some biking, Flying (hubby is a private pilot), Gparents to one precious little girl who is 6, Parents to my Step daughter Kim, and our two boys, Josh and Jordan. Our youngest just graduated College and we are finally financially free of all three.. lol haha, yay. I am one hyper busy gal! I will never ever slow down in my life. I got into Fitness while we were living in Amsterdam, Holland for almost 5 years. I went over there in 1993 overweight. I never noticed it as I am in love, lol.. So, one day I was bored and an English friend from MOPS, asked me to come to the gym and workout. SO I did, I got hooked as everyone was incredible to me. SO many people from lots of different countries. I ran 5ks, 10ks, half marathons and 1 Marathon (Not for me the marathon), but I love the smaller ones. I went back to the States after I lost all of my weight, like 30lbs I think. I got certified into teaching and went back back to Holland. The boss there would not let me teach because she didnt think I could do it. Everyone kept telling her I could. SO, one Saturday, where the Step Class was VERY ADVANCED, she asked me to teach. Holy Moly was I nervous. BUT I DID IT!!! It was one tough class and I was hired on the spot to subsitute teach. GO ME!! I am AFAA, ISSA, ASF, NACFF, CPR, Associate of Science in Health & Fitness, Personal Trainer Certified. I cannot get enough!!! I love this so much! I never looked back and I ended up teaching 10x plus classes a week at various sportschools. whew boy. I could not keep weight on and could eat everything, lol. Came back to the States and pretty much kept it up. I have always worked out very well, but I ran into burnout like most instructors do. I eat great, but got lazy. I have been on a weight loss journey myself to lose about 20 lbs. WE are all in this together, so Lets do this together!!! I am loving these apps and talking to everyone on here. Ask me anything! TEll me about you!! WHAT MOTIVATES YOU?
  24. That would be an incredible add on. I will Def forward your comments to them. GPS would be awesome.
