Second that. Fit should be the object of your affection. Start with good whole foods and kick the processed junk to the curb and move. Everything else will slowly fall into place. Fall off the wagon from time to time, just don't give up and hop back on. It's not a race to the end, rather a journey of a life fulfilled. To seek wisdom is to be wise.

Hi, I am Miowka.
I live in Ireland and have started using the app today. I am 51 years old. I started jogging at age 47 but had to stop at Christmas due to a minor medical condition which has now been corrected. I am back to the start and looking forward to getting my slow running and jogging back. I was never comfortable doing more than 5k and am hoping to get to 5k by mid October. I know I can do it because at 47 I had never run before and with gentle, gradual persistent practice I built up to 10 over a 12 month period. For me, training a maximum of 7 days over a 14 day period with seven rest days worked well - that way I looked forward to the workout and was never too sore or exhausted. Good luck to you all.
I suffered from shin splints for a while....use to just push through the pain but recently found out shin splints are a consequence of poor foot fall and form. After some research and talking to a few runner friends I found Hoka One One Conquest Running Shoes. They are a bit ugly but function over beauty wins. They were just over $100 online and were rated #1 shoe for shin splints. I just started training again using the C25K app and have completed week 1, running every other day. So far shin splints have not been an issue and the shoes are comfy. They run very true to size if not a tad smaller. I were a 7 in Nikes and a 6 in these.
Ran 1 1/2 miles today. Two eight minute blocks. I'm 62 and never thought I'd make it this far. Also nervous about the 20 minutes next run. But have to keep going. So proud of myself I'm starting to like it
