  1. Yah, it gets worse on nights after I run. This has been with me since August. It may take a few weeks to really heal up. That's why I cleared my race calendar. Nothing scheduled until Feb 27th right noiw

Hey all, new to running and after lots of pushing by runner friends I got up the courage to download and try c25k. I'm a mother of a beautiful 6 year old and turned 30 early this year. I have worked in fast food the last 4 years and have gained unwanted weight due to long hours and eating on the job. I recently moved and started a new position where I am seated most of the day. I do not want to continue gaining and feeling horribly. Today I did workout 1, I was fairly proud of myself for making it through the 30 mins even though I had to skip 2 running segments. I live in a hilly area so if it had all been flat I may have been able to get through all of them. If I keep this up I may like running after all!

    Day 1

Hi All, today I tried Day 1. I used to be in great shape- in the Army, very active- but that was 15 years ago. In the meantime, I have put on 100 extra pounds by eating crap and being a couch potato. So today was day 1- but I couldn't compete all the running/ jogging segments. So I'm a bit disappointed in myself. My shin splints just hurt way too much.i don't want to give up but I know I have a very long way to go. Anyone else out there found success after not being able to complete the first workout?

Completed 10 k trainer Completed 13.1 half Marathon in 1hr 58 mins. Currently, enjoying just running 197lbs resting hr 48

Cord down your back instead of the front is a popular trick. Sometimes even inside the shirt. Many running shirts also have a loop at the back of the neck to put the cord through. I went Bluetooth this year. Wireless FTW!

  8. You seem a very strong person, that obstacle would be enough to have an excuse for not exercising... Or so I think! So you don't feel pain during your runs only after? The picture you posted shows your 5,1 km in 31,2 minutes, that means your going almost 10km/h, that is a very quick pace to run for 5 km, I guess its inevitable that one tries to improve and not slow down... I do hope your pain ceases, try and take it easy and your doctor advised and just as you advise others, this sport sadly makes you your only opponent and the hardest to beat. Take care xx

    The Panda Chronicles

Thanks, I did finish the program. I ran another 30 minutes today. 11/30/15 Monday W9D1 Posting on my phone so less formatting and wording. I thought I was running pigeon-toed on the treadmill so I tried running with my toes turned out. I bent my knees more and took on a wider stance. I imagined that I looked like that old guy in the movies with overalls and bowed legs running. I felt my feet rolling from outside in so I thought my gait was better until mid run when the sideways arch on my left foot hurt with each step down. I bought myself the Fitbit Charge HR on Friday and was messing with it during the run. I must have held my breath because I had to remember to breath and got shooting stitches on my right side. I haven't had any stitches in my side since starting this program, but this was a common occurence in the past. I'll have to figure out how to treadmill run later and continue running on the road by crunching my abs and activating my back muscles. Oh, I lost almost another 4 lbs from Wednesday. Happy running, crew!

  12. Forgot to say, don't watch the clock. Hide it on your phone and the treadmill. Rely on the sound prompts on the app. It makes a massive difference mentally.
