    Newbie in Phoenix

Hi there! I am 56 years old and have finished W1D2. Very new to this. But surprisingly I am able to do it! I have never been a runner so maybe this will change. My motivation is two-fold....I need to hold off Type 2 diabetes, which all of my doctors have said it is not if I become diabetic, but when. I also want to look good for a family wedding in October. I am less than 20 pounds overweight, so this should really help. My biggest problem I see is going to be finding the time to run. I am a teacher and I can run now in at 6am. In Phoenix, Arizona that is important since our temps go up to 118 in the summer. I will be starting back to work by the end of July and I leave for work at 6:30. I don't know if I will be making myself run at 4:30...in the dark...in the city. It will be TOO HOT when I get home from work. So I may have to find a treadmill somewhere. Thanks for listening. I am looking forward to success.

  3. Hello everyone! Glad to see the new forums here. Anyways, to tell you a little bit about myself. I'm a 36 year old male. I'm a US citizen, but I live in Hanoi, Vietnam with my wife and 9 month old daughter. My wife is also 14 weeks pregnant. They are the reason that I started running. At the beginning of the year, I realized that I was too fat. Add a history of heart disease on my father's side, and there's a big possibility that I wouldn't live long enough to see my daughter get married. So, I decided to do something about it. In January, I started the C25K program. I stuck with it and 8 weeks later, I was able to run 5K. Now, I run about 30K a week, mostly to lose weight, but also to run in the half marathon this December. Anyways, I look forward to chatting with all of you on these brand new forums!

    New here

Hi! I'm Sarah and I used to hate running! I have bad knees, but I had signed up for a Color Run with my friends, so I started C25K a few months ago. I only ended up finishing the first week or two before my run snuck up on me, but just the few times showed me that it really wasn't so bad and I realized that I could do it! I am now going to get back on C25K and do another 5K in August or September. This is huge for me since I hate any form of exercise!

    Anyone new to C210K?

I just started and am on w4 d1. I am 57 yrs old so and proud i am doing it. I did week 3 for two weeks but was able to run the 3 and 5 minutes today. I really like it! On Sunday, my route was 4.2 miles so I ran/walked after the program was over.
