  1. I struggle with running my 18 month old Rottie and she has the same issue.....she wants to bark at other dogs, I got a runners leash it goes around the waist for ease of them not dragging you left or right (I have bad shoulders) this helped...,I have to run at 5:30 since it gets so warm here in AZ. If you can foresee the dogs ahead of time try and distract the dog or be vocally persuasive for them to run! I tell my girls left, right, cross and run or walk so they verbally know what we are doing! I think it has helped and if you tell them walk you might be able to get them under control easier ? Plus you might be able to pull them over to a car to sit behind if you can catch them in time and wait till the other dogs walk past! Hope this helps! Great job and keep up the good work with you and your pup!
  2. Hence the couch to 5k....everyone's pace and progress is different, question is....how do you feel? Motivated ? I think your decision to quit smoking is spot on, and to further that you want to run.....excellent choice! Your life is in your hands and I am quite proud of your progress!!!!!! Waddle on my friends!
  3. I think your being hard on yourself, I know this since I used to be the same way, but my age has cured that! I don't focus on time, but distance, my question to you is: could you complete a 5k without killing your self, just a leisurely pace ? Whether you run/walk doesn't matter, your still completing a 5k!!!!!! If you can't then it's back a week or 2 depending and keep up the progress you will get there! I too am overweight and I cannot complete their mileage in their time allotted either, but I feel I could do a 5k and I am week 8 repeating quite a few weeks over and over! The app works as long as you are in it !
  4. I have the same issue, so I repeat the weeks as needed, it helped and I would focus a little less on distance and more on completing it and repeating it till you can complete the distance in the time without sacrificing breathing or posture
  5. I agree, work on running the time and the distance can be achieved! I have repeated weeks 6-7 over occasionally and it helps. I don't sweat the distance, it's just a number. Your doing great, just let that couch miss you as you get your time in on the runs!
  6. Just finished week 8 day 1 of #C25K with both my pups! I was shocked to see how far I have some, I have had to repeat a few days here and there but I started and I am sticking with it! Running almost everyday if not every other day, this app has kept me going and has made it easier for me! It's tough running in 80 degrees but I am doing it, shocked but I am doing it!

  9. I wear my hair up, trust me....I don't look good with short hair (shaved it short in the back while I was in the military, vowed never to do that again).....I just HATE treadmills
  10. Just getting over a rotator cuff surgery..W3 D1 still need motivation!!!!!!
  11. Yes 3 days. Preferably a day off in between or doing something different, not running back to back.
  12. Awesome job, I am on W3 D1 I have repeated a few days so I have been running every other day since May 25th & I love it!!!!! This app truly does make it possible! I used to run (10 yr ago) and starting back then was difficult but I was younger, can't even imagine starting without this app!
  13. John Bingham's claim to fame to running was being compared to Penguins! "Waddle on my friends" we don't have to be fast to be a runner, he paved the way for us to be proud of our slow pace! Just be in the moment with yourself and enjoy the fact you can run or you can walk, the choice is ours!
  14. Yes....the monsoon is upon us here in Arizona, I am NOT looking forward to this! I may do what someone else said run wet....can't hurt! I already do the cool towel & water/camelback. Are we insane?
  15. Hey, don't down play your success! There's not a runner out there judging you, when your out there your an equal....a runner doesn't matter what size we are! You could be sitting on the couch....then your NOT a runner, but a loser! Praise to you for getting off your butt and doing something good for yourself!
