    Fresh Start

Starting over and feeling anxious. I am hoping this forum will be just what I need and hold me accountable. I have done Crossfit for a few years and the past 6 months I have lost my drive. I would like to eventually run without feeling like death. Ready to start and continue my journey of health and fitness. Will also be restarting Crossfit as well. Slow and steady

    Journey Starts Today

Hi my name is Alescia. I am 228.5lbs. I have started the C25K walk/run app probably 15 times. I'll make it up to week 3or 4 and stop. Not on purpose but it stops being a priority when I am overwhelmed with other things and before i realize it months have passed. Well I'm back again! Finished my masters today. I walk across the stage for my degree in 30 days. I've been asked to sing the National Anthem at at my St Louis Mo graduation. I live in Florida. I believe my focus is better with school being completed. I just need help from all of you. Motivation, consistency, time management is my weakness. I graduate July 21, 2017. Need my "Sexy" back! Thank you.

    Reasons Not To...

I'm want to start my program on the 5th. These are my reasons not to: Average temperature is 104 degrees I homeschool my kids- even in the summer I am the caregiver for my 82 yo father I am smack in the middle of menopause, and apparently, my symptom is going to be insomnia. I wake up exhausted every day. I am carrying 60 extra pounds. These are my reasons not to begin.... but these reasons are why I so desperately need to begin!!!! I don't have a support system, and I'd appreciate any encouragement or advice you can share!

    Vegan

Newbie training for 5K. Had Salmonella poisoning; went vegan. Started eating healthy to lose weight. I want to be able to run a mile without being out of breathe or walk/jog. This is a new adventure for me. Looking forward to participating in the Your Not Alone 5K - first one to help bring awareness to our local community regarding suicide and help in suicide prevention on different levels.

    Newbie Here My Day 1

I'm really starting at ground zero here and I have a bad back and bum ankle. After a very short period (like minutes) my lower back spasms and I have to sit where ever I am (even if it's on the curb) but the good news is that after a short break my back relaxes and I can get back up until the next spasm. The better news is that I've noticed in the past that if I continue this each day I can last longer between spasms so I'm encouraged by that reality. Running doesn't seem likely since my ankle doesn't have full ROM but if I can get to walking I know I'm doing my body good so my SMART goal is to walk, every day and increase my steps each day.

  9. I am now up to 25 minutes - week 7 day 2 done!! I am slower than the 2.5 miles, and right now that lenght of time is tough but I am doing it. Don't be afraid to repeat days and weeks as needed - but also don't be afraid to push yourself to the next day.

  10. Abitofwit - I'm with you, except I was able to do the 3 minute run. It was the 90 second run that came after it that I struggled with. I ended up pausing the app and walked for about 10 minutes before starting up with the second 3 minute run. I have mapped out a 2 mile route, so I do walk a little bit extra in the beginning and end of the workout. Keep with it. It will be worth it. Every time I think about quitting because it's too hard, I just remind myself about how far I've come so far. I mean, a month ago, I never would've thought that I could actually run 3 minutes continuously. And right now, I can't picture running for 5 minutes straight, let along running an actual 5K, but one thing I know for sure. I definitely won't get there if I stop. I hate exercise completely, so for me to be excited for my next run is thrilling. I hope that I keep this feeling going. Wendy

    Running to 40!

just finished W1D2. Ran outside today. In some ways it was much harder than the treadmill as I don't think I went as fast. But I definitely got a good workout because I am sweating! 8 weeks until I turn 40. Let's get a bit more fit for the big one!

    Running to 40!

Just finished W1D3! I had the added difficulty of running part of the way on gravel. But, I finished it completely and ran(jogged) the entire time I was supposed to. Ended up going 1.77 miles only but continuing on to W2 tomorrow!
