RoBlan
I just did week 5 day 2 today and when I got done, I realized if I went by distance I should of done 2.5miles. Then I realized that by the end, it assumes you are doing a 10 minute mile, I am doing about a 13min mile. If I don't get faster by the end (which I assume I won't, bc I'm just focusing on doing it), should I just continue by extending each run by a minute or something until I get to 3.1mi? Thanks! RosyRae
I'm doing about a 13 min mile as well. Just keep building up your stamina, I've been extending my workouts so that I cover more distance rather than trying to get my speed up yet bitingbangus
Chi Gal
I'm pretty slow, too, and just moved on to the 10k. I just went through the whole program, not really worrying about distance - I was just making sure I ran all the intervals. Then, when I finished week 8, I used the next week to run 3 5ks, and ran the distance, instead of focusing on the time. Now I'm staring week 10 tomorrow, and I'm doing the same thing - just focusing on finishing the time intervals. I think you'll be surprised at your strength by the end - keep it up! 1dayatatime
I wish I was doing a 13 minute mile lol. I'm running a 16 minute mile but as big as I am I'll take whatever I can get. Just keep getting out there and push yourself a little harder every week eventually you'll get your distance up which will bring your time down. I know that's not super helpful but it's different for everyone.
Jaredpickett
Don't worry about pace. I agree with your plan. At the end of the program, just increase your runtime by 1 minute each run until you get the full 5K. Good luck!
