Badjenetix
I've been overweight since leaving high school. I "lie" to myself and have little to no support at home, and am not even accountable to myself. I want to be healthy. I need to feel better. I'm a wife, mother, and full time student. One of my children has 'Special Needs'. I'm hoping I can get some type of push here, some tough love. No BS so that I can get underway. torus_ot
Welcome! First start walking daily! Get yourself a pedometer. Any kind will work, but the one that have connection with the smartphone is more convenient. Try to jog with the C25K program. Jog every other day (3 days per week). Walk the rest of the days. It is OK to repeat days or weeks, we all did it. (I am repeating whole program but faster). This forum is great for support, read it,ask questions. I am sure you can do it! catlynk
You can do this! I started the app Mid January, finished March 16th. When I started I was 230# and finished at 215. I personally did the program 6 days a week until week 7 when I went back to three days a week. I have friends that have repeated weeks when they felt they weren't ready to MoveOn. Just keep it up and you'll feel great at the end of the eight weeks! quote name="Badjenetix" post="17708" timestamp="1459914910"] Nice Kellyh1970! I just did my week 1/Day 2 workout this evening. Badjenetix
Thanks all for the tough love and words of support. I am now on Week 2/Day 2 and so far so good. It's not easy but I'm doing it. I have my first 5 k in about 3 weeks and while I know I cannon and will not jog/run the whole thing, I am hopeful that I'll be able to finish it. T1lersm0m
Hi! 5 years ago I lost 54 pounds and was still obese but felt great. Today I've nearly gained my weight back, have arthritis pain in a lot of my body. I'm 39 yo 5'3" and weigh about 280#. I keep spending the days on my couch looking at hiking groups etc on FB but not living my life. I'm up for motivating one another if you are! I'm Leigh btw

NJRiddler21
I'm a 31 yr old male who started this at 307 lbs. i walked 2 miles a day every day for one month and used My Fitness Pal to log my calories. Use something like that and stick to your calorie goal. After my one month of walks I started C25K and just completed week 4 this morning. So I am two months into this and am down to 273 lbs. You can do it! Go to a running specific store near you and get fitted for proper running shoes. There is s huge difference and it will help you do more for longer. It's worth it. My Fitness Pal will help you stay on top of your calorie intake. I also got s FitBit which is on my wrist and I see it all day every day so it helps remind me of my goals and keeps me accountable. Be realistic with your goals. Your mantra should be "I am trying" I tell myself that at least 100 times a day. In the end you are better today then you were yesterday. You can do it. Fran76
I'm so glad that I downloaded this app today. My journey back to myself started right after I turn 40 in April. It's been less than one month since I got my fit bit Alta band but I am very happy when my band tells me I reached my goal every day. I could not do 10,000 steps in one day to start with so I am starting with 3000 steps a day, next week I'm going up to 3500 steps a day. a few days ago I completed almost 7000 steps in one day I was so proud of myself. I am 40 Years Old, about 235 pounds, i'm tired of looking in the mirror and hating what I see, feeling ashamed and embarrassed all the time, hiding in the house and in avoiding old friends thinking that they will be disgusted by how fat I got since they last saw me, I know that it took me a few years to get like this so it will not be 100% perfect overnight but I cannot give up. I have thyroid problems and autoimmune disease and chronic fatigue and ABCD and LOL but seriously I know that if I were to eat right and exercise and lose weight a lot of my health problems would go away or be better. I mean I am 40 years old I know that life is not over but in 40 years I will be 80 I want the next half of my life to be epic not what the last decade has been like. Much love and support to all of you. Let's kick this things ass
