catlynk
I so wanted to get up at 5 o'clock this morning to do day 2, but the 31° temperature scared me. Todays 5PM workout was tough because I think most my energy was spent before I even started. I have high hopes for tomorrow to be out at 5 AM despite the 31° temps! Jdavis
Any advice for a fear of running in front of others? I run on my lunch hour and I prefer to do it alone. When it gets nice out I want to run in my neighborhood but the thought of people watching me makes me want to not do it and I don't want to give up. I'm very heavy at 265 5 ft 4 but have survived wk 1 day 2 so far.

torus_ot
Any advice for a fear of running in front of others? I am too very conscious about running outside... Last November I bought treadmill Strangely enough, when I am on bicycle, I don't care...
Tizzy9
I did week one day 2 today. I just got thru it. Is it best to do the first three days as run days or alternate run day 1 walk day 2 etc
torus_ot
Program is really based on alternating run days with "rest" days. Tizzy9
catlynk
Any advice for a fear of running in front of others? I run on my lunch hour and I prefer to do it alone. I'm very heavy at 265 5 ft 4 but have survived wk 1 day 2 so far. I too am female 5'4" and in the 230's and I run in my neighborhood. I really don't care what anybody thinks when they see me pass by. In fact I really get more positive feedback and no negative feedback (people wave at me as I passed by and one gentleman even shoutout I was doing a good job). I would encourage you to run in your neighborhood and not worry about what people people in your neighborhood might be thinking in their heads. As my husband would say "what do you care what they think, do they have any influence in your life you should only care about the people in your life what they think" and I'm sure that they would think getting out and getting yourself physically fit is great! Best of luck to you, BTW I just finished DAY 1 Week 2 and I feel terrific! Catherine
Rob129
Catherine, That's a nice post. I was a bit conscious when I first started. Now that I have 4 months under my belt I notice runners and joggers; where I hadn't before. When I see someone running, I feel glad that they are out there putting in the effort. Kat94
I find that I am motivated in the mornings so I just suck it up and run despite the weather. So rather than let the temperature give that "dreading" feeling, think of how you feel after your run As for feeling embarrassed about running in public, I was the the same way. I realized that people can think whatever they want, I'm out running trying to get fit and healthy, what are they doing? Now, I occasionally experience the "I must look pathetic" when I see people running long distances with so much ease. But then I shake my head and remember that they had to start somewhere just like me. Happy running everyone
