LEFTY
New father and I have been on the American Rollercoaster ride of weight-loss my entire life. Up and down swings of 100 lbs currently in sit at 295 and I'm not a lazy person entirely but eat awful from always being on the run. Have recently been inspired to try this app and take a hold of my life so one day I can lead by example to my ten month old son. Excited and motivated to get into best shape of my life. Any advice on how many days to train running would be welcomed. I currently am eating every three hrs, and during weight training three days a week. Wendell
Congrats Lefty! Every other day is the way to go, I think. That gives your legs time to recover in between, and it's important. Just be sure to not overdo it. Someone on here said there's a difference between sore and hurt. Sore is ok, hurt isn't. Good luck!!
Azatol
Heya Lefty and welcome! every other day works but I preferred to start with 3 days a week on the same days for consistency (M-W-F), TIP: The key to weight loss is 90% diet. Running helps and is really beneficial for your overall and specifically cardiovascular health but diet is where it's at for weight loss. I've lost TONS eating the Paleo way. Even after my knee surgery(Non running related) when i couldn't move around well, I still dropped weight.
DeanV86
A lot of people don't start with both diet AND exercise; they do one or the other. It's good to see you've done your research! I try to do the same, as far as eating every few hours. Keeping a log helps too sometimes, so you can also keep track of the calories and nutrients you're getting. It also helps from getting too malnourished. I sort of fell into that trap over the summer.

Aplz1989
Hi there! Congratulations and go you for making this huge change! I'm also doing this for my daughter who is 4. Long term overweight, and my father died of obesity related stroke 2 years ago. I'm determined to be here for my daughter as long as I can! Today was my first day but I've also been working on changing my eating habits for a couple weeks first. I'm doing mostly okay. I'm also taking duromine and getting help from my doctor ☺. Myfitnesspal is the best app it let's me log everything I'm doing and eating. I also have a pedometer app that I used before the c25k one. I bought a fitbit too (although it's missING since we moved a month ago). I found the pretty piece of tech was a great motivator to increase my steps when I go walking during the day. Keep it up and you will be amazing!! Xox
