I just finished my first run! I'm 55 and a good 40+ lbs overweight. I've never been much of a runner, however, I signed up for the Shamrock Shuffle so I have a goal and can't procrastinate. I'm also switching to a plant based diet. I need to stay focused and stay on track, found this app and forum and hoping this will be a key tool to assist me.

Awesome-sauciness!!   We both chose to start on the same day with the same goal ... to run a Saint Patty's day run! LOL  Excited for you!  Cheers!

ps.  I introduced myself earlier (Shannon) and just now registered for the forums.  Love it so far!  The energy and stories shared are contagious!  Wishing you continued success!

Hey there! I am 64 and have been plant based for 7 months. It is a little tough at first but easier to do than I thought. Started this app a few weeks ago and love it! Am doing week 3 again. ... Good luck!

Hi! I'm a 32 year old working woman who's never run before. I'm out of shape & not very fit. I just finished my first run today and hope to continue with all the stamina of the first day. A couple of questions, though. 1. What exactly should one do during the cooldown? I just kept walkin for the cooldown. Is that correct? 2. I was very tired midway through the workout, so I took a 2 minute break to relax. I just sat quietly for 2 minutes and then resumed the workout. Is that permissible?

Suhn26, I did the same thing during the warmup and cooldown, just a brisk walk. Then after you have completed a day, you should stretch. Not a problem taking a break, if needed. You are listening to your body and that's key. I would suggest that you keep moving during that time, even if it's a slow walk, but definitely listen to what your body is telling you. Great job so far, keep it up!

Thanks so much, Timb. I only did my week 1 day 1 yesterday but I did a combination of walking and spot jogging indoors as per the time specifications on the app. Will that work? Also, what should I do on the days of the week when I don't do C25k? I really want to lose weight, a lot of it and get fit.

Suhn, it's important to take those rest days, but if you feel good on the off days, you can do a different, light-impact workout. I usually walked my dog on the days off for a couple of miles. It kept me moving on those off days, and burning a few extra calories, but it allowed my muscles time to rebuild.
