    5K on St. Patrick’s Day 2019

This weekend I’m participating in a 5K/Guinness World Record Kilt Run. I’m excited and nervous too! I need some good vibes my way! My goal is to finish ahead of my 5K I was in this past Thanksgiving. I won’t “run” the whole thing but I sure hope to finish with some good stretches of running. Please! Send those positive vibes my way

I have pockets in my leggings! Just big enough to slip my phone into and it’s totally secure. I have an armband too. I also use wireless/bluetooth headphones.

    Motivation needed

I have to agree with ninja, habit is a big key. I struggle with motivation too. I started writing everyday. There are days I finish a stint on the treadmill and write about it knowing I can go back and read about it on a day I’m struggling. I write on the days I struggle too. It’s not always sunshine and roses lol Hang in there and keep working at it!

I use a breast shirt pocket. I tried an arm band and it was too small. Happy running!

    Motivation needed

I have read a lot about motivation and the trick is, motivation comes and goes but habit is what keeps you going. Happy running!

    Week 3 Day 3 ugh

This morning I went with W2D3 again. My first mile was 17:31 so I was really happy. It means I am moving longer/faster. I think going back to week 2 was the right decision. I had a talk with my cousin's son, my second cousin I guess he would be? lol At any rate, he was my biggest influence to really get moving. He lost 100+ pounds (I need to lose 20) and he said it took him all of a year to be able to run. When he started he couldn't run 300 feet let alone 3 miles. It was a good reminder to myself to stop being so hard on myself. I know I'll get there and have already made some great strides. The tough part is sometimes feeling like I'm not making enough progress fast enough. I don't want to give up!

    Week 3 Day 1

I was really intimidated by the 3 minutes run, but I made it and it fills me with confidence. Happy running folks!

    Week 3 Day 3 ugh

I finished W3D1 yesterday and surprised myself. I didn't think I could run for 3 minutes straight, but I did it. Feeling confident.

    Motivation needed

I was in the same place: Knee pain zapping motivation! Then, I spent a summer revamping my running form...... Pain was gone, motivation remained. Remember what you loved about running in the first place!

I have self stick velcro. Place half of the velcro on my phone and the other half of it on my forehead. Stick that puppy to my forehead and away I go. Best. Ever.

https://www.armpocket.com/ Big enough to hold your phone, ID, a small key ring (one or two keys for the car or house) and you can tighten the strap as much or as little as you like. Works great with regular or wireless headphones. Hope this helps!

I use an arm band but I turn the phone around so that I can't see the display. Can't finish if I start clock watching!

I hold it in my hand. It's in a case so I'm not afraid of dropping it. I also loop the headphones under my right bra strap so the cord doesn't pull on the earbuds.
