    Treadmill for now

    Hello! Just getting going with the app. Right now the weather here isn't fit for running so I am on the treadmill. I purposely restarted week one. Trying to make sure I am adapted before I move to the next week. This is all very new to me but I am determined to succeed!

  2. Hi all! My name is Meggs, and I'm 41 and I have 2 awesome kiddos and a wonderful supportive husband to boot! I had weight loss surgery last February and in 16 months I've lost 80 pounds! I decided that this year was the year I was going to haul my keister off the couch and do my first 5k...I WALKED a 5k back when my son was still a baby, but this time around I want to RUN/JOG most of the course. I also started cosplaying as Gwenage from Spiderman...so I have done and am going to complete a ton of firsts this year!

  3. Greetings everyone, My name is Ebony and im a want to be runner. Lol. I’ve tried this program several time in the past and have given up each time. Hopefully I can remain motivated to continue. My goal is to run (not Walk) a 5k in the Caribbean while on vacation this summer.

  5. Hi, I'm Susan and my goal is to complete a 5k. I would prefer to run it but have TKR and not sure how running is going to play out for me. I may end up speed walking which is a sport I am keenly interested in but cannot find any local (Sacramento) groups or someone to hire as a coach while learning. So, I'm here, C25K will most certainly get me closer to my goal than doing nothing at all... hahaha. #wishmeluck to stick with my determinations.

  7. I have walked several 5k races but this summer my family and I are going to WDW and on a Disney Cruise where I want to not only have the stamina to make it all day Florida heat but to also run (not Walk) in the Caribbean islands 5k race.

  10. My goals for this year: 1. Get under 200 lbs 2. Complete my first Color Run 5k 3.Go to a Comic Con and do my first Cosplay 4. Get my thyroid under control

  11. As for music, I made a playlist using the phone's default program instead of Google Play (it was recommended to do that to be able to have a playlist that worked with the c25k app). I'd go to music through the c25k app, not find my playlist, click on play all (or something like that; it has been a while since I've gone there), then go out of the music, then back in (sometimes doing that again) before I even saw my playlist, so I said, Forget that! and went through the Nike app to get to the playlist. I love doing it that way, as it always starts up when my workout (run) starts, and will continue playing until I press stop on the run. In other words, it plays the list over and over again if I'm running long enough. But I really liked the c25k for those first weeks of direction, being told when to start running and when to stop. It helps you figure out where you are and what you can do, plus gets you used to getting out there to do the run.

  12. The C25k app seems willing to connect with Google Fit, and Google Fit claims they are connected, but info is never written to Google Fit (I've tried a couple or more times). I don't have any apps connected to c25k, but when I run, I run the Nike app along with it. Well, I've stopped using the c25k app (explanations are at the end of my Training for April 5k thread (under Accountability)), so I only use the Nike app now. I bought the c25k app and, like you said, there isn't much difference. I don't regret buying it, as it didn't cost very much and really helped me run during those first several runs when I wanted to just give up. I find that several apps can run at the same time. I can't help you with any of the others as I don't have them on my phone.

    Still here and still training. For the most part I have been keeping up with my schedule. It has been a journey. Still keeping my sites on running an entire 5K and I believe I'm on track. I don't get here on the forum quite as much. The weather here has warmed up and that means doing things that have taken a backseat during the winter. Camping, backpacking and motorcycle riding... I'll keep checking in and seeing how everyone is doing. Just a little more lurking than posting going on these days. The turnover on the board seems to fit in with people completing the program, and this makes sense to me. You can always give me a nudge or message me through the forum. Best of luck to everyone and remember... a mile is a mile, no matter how many minutes it takes to finish!

  14. Don’t be flustered! This is a journey my friend and it will take some time. I wish I could help with all your app intergrations but I don’t use them. I have a fitbit HR and I use myfitnesspal for all my food. Hopefully someone here can help you out! Lots of great folks posting on this forum. Best of luck to you and hang in there!

    I've gotten to the point where I run when I can and I rest when I have to, which means I'm not paying a whole lot of attention to what the lady says at this point.

    4th floor? I'd get winded, too. You're right that it isn't easy. Many of us repeat weeks, but I really think it's worth it to get in shape.
