    13.1 Half Marathon App

Hi I been Running 10K 4 to 5 days a week so that’s 60 min of run time since September 2018, I have just started the 13.1 Half Marathon App. Do I need to go back to run walk, or can I skip forward to week 9 which is about the same run time, of an hour.

    Quick question

I did week 1, then week 1, then week 2 then tried week 3 and went back to 2, then did week 2, and today finished week 1 again. So that's a total of 6 weeks to date - and I'll be starting week 2 again on Monday. I'm at the point where most of the time I can run for a full minute and, if it's not up hill and I'm having a good day, I can run for a minute and a half. An important note if you are keeping track of your runs: When you do a day or week over, it erases what you've done, so you might want to write down your runs (dates, times, and distances) on paper or in a program like Fitbit or Google Fit, etc.

I think they recommend that you can start about that week since you've already run a lot. If you do that week and it's too easy, then just skip forward again. If it's a little bit hard then you could just go back a week.

  4. This post may be long so if you take the time to read it thank you in advance. About 8 years ago I was injured at work. I did some serious damage to my left wrist and have had eight surgeries since then trying to alleviate some of the pain I was in every day. Being in so much pain I spent a lot of time on the couch just trying to deal with the pain or recover from one of my many surgeries. It was so bad I wasn't able to work since my job had been a physical one, which meant more time sitting on the couch. In October of 2015 my dad passed away suddenly which added depression into the mix of things. 11 months later my mother who was 64 years old at the time was diagnosed stage 4 triple negative breast cancer. I spent the next six months watching her wither away which only deepened my depression. I had my last surgery in February of 2017 and before my cast even came off my mom passed away and it was the most crushing horrible thing I've ever had to deal with. But after a year physical therapy my wrist has finally getting better. Shortly before I was fully released from my injury I found out I was pregnant at 36 years old. Had a rough pregnancy with lots of daily pain but got a beautiful healthy girl out of it so it's totally worth it. Now my daughter is 6 months old, I'm not in horrific pain every day, and I'm starting to deal with my grief instead of sit in it. Before all this started I really enjoyed running. I just did it for fun and I really only ran a mile at a time but it did wonders for getting into shape. So after many years and lots of weight gain I am super motivated to get back into shape. At this stage I am obese but I did week 1. It wasn't pretty, it wasn't easy, but I didn't quit and I didn't give up. I look forward to seeing where this road takes me.

    Quick question

Only you can really decide but if it helps any, more than a few of us have repeated a week. I don’t believe the program is a “cookie cutter” that everyone will fall into exactly. Go at your own pace! Don’t give up, you got this

    Week 3 Day 3 ugh

Was on the treadmill for my morning walk and kept it to 3mph. I was watching a climbing documentary on Netflix and before I knew it I had walked 2 miles. My shins didn't seem to hurt, but I didn't push it either. I figure tomorrow I'll try week 3 day 3 again and see how it goes. I definitely drink plenty of water. Sometimes I slosh when I walk LOL Hopefully I can keep moving forward. It's really hard to not feel down about it... in other news: It's FRIDAY!
