  1. How do I go about convincing my body that it is full after a meal with plenty of food and calories but few simple carbs? For now, my body seems certain that if a meal doesn't have bread or pasta or rice or potatoes that it isn't really full. Even when I KNOW I'm full, my brain tells me that I'm not. For pasta and rice, I've gotten accustomed to substituting whole wheat pasta and brown rice. But I probably still eat too many carbs. I really need to add in a second vegetable instead. But when I manage to do so, I'm still craving simple carbs that break down quickly. What can I say? My brain likes a sugar rush. Anyone have strategies that help them with a similar struggle? Thanks. I appreciate any suggestions. -T

Week 5 Day 3 nailed it!

Hello all, Newbie here, i have been lurking for a few days and am really enjoying reading all the motivation and messages. I started this app a few weeks ago, and as a non-runner (even going up the stairs tired me out), have really enjoyed the progress so far. Like a few of you, I was really not looking forward to day 3 of week 5. I read a few posts of the runners who completed it and thought no way, my body is just not ready. I got my self ready, new playlist courtesy of my 14 year old, stretches, towel and water, no excuses. I was nervous, full of dread and funny enough a bit excited. At the gym, i went purposefully between two runners already in full speed, and started the run. Something inside of me must have just clicked, as already half way through the end was in sight. I personally like to see the the timer, as i set my self goals to get to the next five minutes. I completed the 20 mins and felt good. I didn't manage two miles, but continued the run/walk scenario and completed 5k. I am really looking forward to week 6 day three to see if i can beat my time. I would just like to say Thanks to all, as reading your stories pushed me into believing I could do it. And for those coming upto the dreaded W3D5, you can do it!
