  1. Redefining Women-Exercise Crazed to be Sexy-LET GO! This is what my morning run is about. Don't get me wrong, I honestly want to FEEL sexy but as I go for my morning runs, I recognize how many women are in the gym begging, pleading, working out to exhaustion to melt the fat away. Meanwhile most of our men are weight lifting to build muscle. What is going on? As I recognize that I love to look good and want to be able to have my bridge yoga stance in my white fringed bikini on the Tiki Island-at 43 this should not be my focus. Any day I can fall over-really. My goal is to be healthy and not allow TV, Blogs, Magazines, The Kardashians or the Beyonce's of the world to tell me what is the new normal. I won't. I run because I love the meditation and the challenge of being able to run a 5K. I run because it keeps my energy up throughout the day. I run because, yes. I would like to fit into my clothes and go down a size or two BUT not to be sexy. I don't emanate sex-I emanate health and consciousness and everything else I leave up to the beholder. If it's sexy they see then GREAT if not then that's fine to because I feel GREAT! So for me it's time to make sure I keep my femininity in who and what I am-a COMPLETE and CONSCIOUS woman and let go all of the stereotypes.

Over 40 & beginning to workout

So, I'm well into my 40's... and for the first time in a very long time I want to be in better shape. I've set a goal to walk/jog 10 miles per week for the last 4 weeks, joined a softball team and upped my goal to 12 miles this week. I'm looking for women like me to work with me to get/stay motivated... never done this posing thing before either... So, sorry if this is weird...

    self-care

I have always hated running, but enjoy walking. After seeing the satisfaction of my baby completing a 5k, I decided to push myself the way that I always push others.

  4. I must be doing it wrong. I get up and get my run done and then eat about an hour after. I tend not to be able to run on a full tummy

Over 40 & beginning to workout

Hi I'm 47, just tried training through another program and got injured, so I'm resting up to heal, then I'll start the C25K, hoping for better results. I really enjoyed the running, not so much the injury. I plan to start again, with just plain walking in Mid-August then if all goes well begin the C25K by September.

  6. I'm so glad to see such support. We can do this I started W4D1 and could not finished. My legs killed me. I'm going to my local running store and have my run analyzed and my gait measured. Hopefully that will help

Over 40 & beginning to workout

Hi, I just started using the C25K. Although I have been active most of my life I could never get into running. Physically, my endurance and breathing needed improvement; mentally, I needed to push myself. So I am in week two (after two weeks on week one) and I am not sucking wind as badly as when I started. Good luck to everyone in their running and hearing your stories here has helped.

  11. Hi ladies, I'm right there with you. I'm 45 and want to get into shape. I'm finding it's not so easy. I started the C25K program about three week ago and finding out how out of shape I really am. I'm on Twitter at @Boydba1993 if anyone wants to talk.

  12. Hi I have recently started the whole getting fit and eating healthy as well. I am 44, quit smoking in December, and am tired of sitting on the couch not doing anything. I joined a gym, hired a personal trainer and started walking. I have not started the C10K app yet as I just found it and was out of town, vacation. And I have to leave again. I will MOST DEFINITELY start it on Sunday the 20th. If you are on Twitter my name @gottatrain. We can all motivate each other to get this Nice to meet you both

  13. It is not weird, good for you with your goals! I am a little older then you, I am 57 and just recently decided to get on this healthy ride! I quit smoking almost 2 years ago, and joined Weight Watchers this past October. My husband and I both started hiking and love it! While on a hike someone told me about the C25K application, I was never a runner, jogger, never liked it, I am only on week 3, just finished day 2 on it. I hope to finish this program and will also need to stay motivated.
