MaryK
I'm pretty sure it's a pinched nerve as I'm also having shooting pains in my back and down my leg and into my knee. I have been having some hip and knee pain for a few weeks now but since starting into week 5 it got pretty bad. Yesterday I finished week 6 day 2 and I'm in extreme pain today. I'm very discouraged because this is the same sort of pain I had a few years ago that literally lasted years until I switched jobs. I don't want to stop running because I really love it. I'm only 29, do I really have to give it up?
DAW
Have you tried doing some mobility? There are some videos on YouTube to help. I'm thinking if you are having knee and hip pain on he same side it's hip related. I suggest getting a foam roller and a lacrosse ball. Rolling out before any exercise has worked miracles for me. Guest christa
Maryk have you tied chiropractic? If it its a pinched nerve they can adjust you and relive the pressure that builds up... it helps me... hope you feel better...
Lexy Moore
I would take a rest day and the next day dedicate to some good stretching that is directed at helping with the pinched nerve. Once you are feeling better then pick back up.
KellyAnn
Hi MaryK, I so hate that. Can you go get a massage? See a Chiroprator? I have a Bowen Therapist that I just love. Anything to work that nerve will help? Please seek a Dr's help.. When I do not move as is being sick, My sciatica kicks in and OMG, my left side from butt cheek to foot hurts like no other. Time for a walk and that helps. Hope you get it fixed so you can run again, Hugs
Maizie88
Cold therapy is also always good for a pinched nerve. I have a pinched nerve in my neck and a cold compress always helps relieve it. A woman I work with suffered from sciatica quite bad and I know she also always sat on cold packs.
