Cheryli
my pressure has been a little high. 145/83. It has never been over 129/80. I'm 51, overweight, and am on Week 3 Day 2. I'm going to see my doc. I figure it's a good idea to keep at it but has anyone had this issue?
DeanV86
My husband sometimes would get high blood pressure, and it was usually stress. I 100% say go to your doc, but also try to remove stressors from your life as well. It sounds cliche, but it really works. I really cut down on reading news and social media, cut out caffeine completely, I don't eat foods high in saturated fats, and I try to meditate before bed for 15-20 minutes (I like to listen to rain sounds) and don't look at any screens (tv, phone, etc) after that until morning, and I've noticed a HUGE difference in myself. He also cut out caffeine and fatty foods, and is working to remove negatives from his life as well as exercising, and even in the past few weeks I've noticed a huge difference and he hasn't had any blood pressure issues. Keep working at it though, of course consult with your doctor any time you have worries! Nothing has improved my life (other than my husband! more than exercise; mentally and physically. Good for you for sticking to it! Mammagoat, legalbelle7 and Anne Lang

legalbelle7
I agree DeanV86, even I have had to avoid the news and social media. It seems like everything is so stressful these days. It's more than just exercise and diet changes when it comes to high blood pressure. It's everyday life changes, eliminating as much negativity and stress as possible. Good luck to everyone on their journey!

Swathi
balanced diet, good workout and preferably not eating salty foods generally takes care of the BP issues, you can also try yoga with deep breathing, however yoga is not just for weight loss its potent tool to enhance well being. Jorge Gonzales
If you already have hypertension, regular physical activity can bring your blood pressure down to safer levels. The best types of exercise for lowering blood pressure include walking, jogging, cycling, swimming or dancing. Strength training also can help reduce blood pressure. hanakuin
I had high BP and was put on meds. Started being a vegetarian in March and have lost around 38lbs and had to stop the meds after a month. Started exercising recently and my BP hovers around 115/70. Before it was 150/125 on average. I still monitor it occasionally and just give the machine a little smile and a wink for the journey that we have taken together. Diet is the best medicine - exercise is the icing. Swathi
Exercise and diet generally helps in controlling Blood pressure, i have seen that Yoga really helps too, especially Pranayama, obviously you have to avoid head stands and holding poses for too long in the beginning. there are numerous resources on yoga available, if you are interested let me know. All the best!
