bigjas77
I just started Week 3 Day 1 and I'm having issues with my uunderwear riding up my legs and also getting weddgies. Any suggestions on a good brand to use and also that helps with chaffing?
KellyAnn
Well this is a First here.... I chuckled, Maybe one of the "Guys" can answer this!!! Me as a girl, I wear and love the Shorts that have the underwear built right in them... they stay put and no wedgies at all, nothing worse than running and you have to keep pulling out your undies, I hate that. They do make running shorts that are tight to your legs and no underwear?????? Or, you can just wear a thong, its already rides up there. Sorry, I just had to say that!! Made me laugh!!! Keep me posted!!
bigjas77
Lol yes it's an odd question sorry, but thanks for your response. I'm not comfortable yet wearing tight shorts just yet, and thought about trying no underwear when I run, but I'm afraid the results may be bad. SteveJ
That can't be comfortable! I'm a boxer briefs guy - they have the tight short feel but underneath your regular shorts. I don't have the wedgie or chafing issue either (they protect quite a bit of the upper legs).
bigjas77
Thanks Steve, I do wear boxer briefs, I'm just a bigger guy, maybe I need to buy a smaller size.
SteveJ
Sorry I couldn't help more - sometimes I'll wear compression shorts under my running shorts...wonder if that might help? saejosh
bigjas77
SteveJ I will give that a try, thanks.

SteveJ
Thanks Kelly - just trying to help out (I imagine that this in no way would be comfortable or could it motivate anyone wanting to run). bigjas77 - hope the compression shorts work out! rafael
Hey guys.. I wear compression shorts and I'm a bigger guy. I've been running now for about 5 weeks and I'm just fine. Moonman
I'm a newbie to this forum but have some experience on this topic... first lets call it what it is,… Guys, especially us Big Guys are sensitive and seldom talk about Chaffing, Jock Itch and Yeast Infections … yes, I said yeast infections. Women can talk about them all day long but Guys get them as well. All have physical and mental ramifications that could and in many cases do diminish one’s desire to get in better shape. The good news is that all are also easily controlled/ avoided with the right gear and diet, compression boxers and corn starch play a big part with all physical activity. Compression boxers do not have to be expensive, I have Under Amour but my $10 Walmart specials work just as well. Make sure they fit tight and keep them updated as you lose size; loose fitting compression boxers can end up riding like a thong in no time at tall… Corn Starch, powder if you prefer but Corn Starch is Corn Starch and I get mine from the baking isle… No added fragrance or other ingredients and it keeps me just as dry. bigjas77
Moonman, thank you for the advice. I will definitely try the corn starch and as for the compression underwear, I may give Wal-Mart's a try first cause I am dropping weight and my clothes are getting loose. I would rather try them before I drop the money on Under Armor.
footsteps1977
I personally use the starter compression shorts from walmart. Helps to hold just in place and pulls away the sweat to keep from chaffing. Eastbay.com also has cheaper clothing although I have never order anything from them.
