Hi everyone, I'm almost done with week 4. Recently I've started bringing a water bottle with me when I run. I have one that's ok to carry but are there any other options? I tried a fanny pack and it just flops around because of the weight of the water bottle. Any suggestions are welcome!

Have you got one which splits down the middle so you can grasp it easier. Bought mine from Aldi (UK). Much easier than a traditional bottle.

I've not tried one, but a lot of my runner friends swear by the little bottles that fit into a holster on a strap around your waist. There are 2-3 bottles and the small size of them keep them from flopping as much. I've also seen a small bottle that fits on a strap that attaches to your hand (that way you don't have to actually grasp it.

I was thinking of trying the belt thing but I was afraid it would bounce around. Right now I'm carrying a water bottle from the dollar store that has a handle but when I start running longer distances and races, I'm not surei want to carry something.i will check out the belt idea, thank you!

I have the belt with the small bottles.

And it's verry easy to run with it. If you have a good one it will stay in place to. But to be sure I suggest you go to a sportinggoods store and try different things to see what you like best.

Those belts with the little water bottles on them are usually called fuel belts, though that is actually the brand name of the first company to make such belts... Many companies make something similar now. I have been using my fuel belt for 10 years, I love it. It does not bounce, though it can sometimes chafe if your aren't careful.

I have a friend who used to carry a hand held water bottle. She was unable to get beyond 6 miles without major back pain. One day she ditched the bottle and had no pain whatsoever, even when running a half. The bottle doesn't weigh much and seems innocuous... But it will still change your posture and natural arm swing and might cause you issues.

I actually use a camelbak, it has a reservoir for water and is contained inside a light weight back pack, I use it for long runs and haven't had any issues, mine also has a pocket that I use for keys, shotblocks and Gu. You should be able to find them at sporting goods stores, I purchased mine at Dick's Sporting Goods.

You could always try the Nathan hydration belt, you can look it up online, you can buy them at most sporting goods store.. Just go to Dicks, Scheels etc. and try different things and see what you think would work for you..Hope this helps!
