If you can't complete a week's workouts...

"Up to par," like you have to walk more than the program calls for. Do you do that week over or continue to move on? I'm beginning week 3 tomorrow and am nervous! I did week 1 and week 2 exactly as the program goes.

I also have signed up for a 5k in April! So I'm on a timeline.

What do you guys suggest?

How exciting Jc! And congrats on signing up. :)    As silly as this may sound ... trust your gut.  You know what your body is capable of. Trust it - be that pushing more or holding back.  Either way, you'll nail that 5k - walking, walk/run or running all the way.  On par is awesome! Celebrate!

I like what Az shared ... you've nailed it so far.   Keep nailing it ... over and over until you beat your best :)

Its up to you and what youre comfortable with really. if you want to move on to the next week and try to push yourself not to walk more than what it tells you go for it! Youd be surprised what you can push your body to do. If you think that you need to redo the week thats ok too! you have time before April and your 5k. Even if you dont finish before than walking during your 5k will be ok too.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Personally - I re-did the days I had trouble with. I'd play different music and take a different route. Don't stop though. The important part of all of this is that you are going out and doing something with a set goal. Others may echo my sentiments here....week 5 day 3 will look scary but I actually feel that the first 3 weeks are the toughest especially if you are new to doing this. At the end of week 1 I wasn't sure I was going to make it through. May last time out, I ran a 5K distance. You can do it.
