Last night, I ran my final run. I can't believe that I actually completed the program and ran for 30 minutes non-stop. Not only did I go the whole time, I ran at a faster pace than I did at any previous point. For those who are unsure if they can do it, you can. It's a challenge, but you've got this! Don't stop and I'll be standing here at the finish line cheering for you!!

Way to go Jill!

Just finished week 7. I can't believe I only have one more week in this program.
-
Karrel, good luck to you!
-
During the early weeks, I went every other day. Now, on week 7, I find that I personally have to give myself three days between runs. I don't think more than every other day would be recommended.

Preparing for my first ever race of anything.
Cherylseptember replied to ninjapirate83's topic in Introduce Yourself
Hey ninjapirate! My goal is also to my my first race ever in September. I haven't found one in my area that appeals to me yet, but I'm sure I'll find one. I'm hoping to run in "celebration" of turning 45. -
Just completed my 22 minute run. Well, run is a bit of a stretch...this is probably the slowest I have moved since I started the program. But that's okay! I still did it, and I did it mid-day when it's super hot here. Week 7, I'm coming for you!

ne2co, I had that problem until I figured out what the sequence is to get out of forums. If you are on home page of forums, you need to click the chat bubbles to get back to the training part of app. At least, that's what worked for me. Good job on getting started and making it through the first day!

Your description sounded like you could live in my neighborhood in the Houston suburbs.

Way to go! It's amazing what we can accomplish if we just stick to the plan. Keep up the good work!

Just finished my 20 minute run which looked fairly impossible this time last week. I did the whole thing, nonstop and even had enough left for a kick at the end. I can't believe I am even writing this! Who could have possibly thought? If you are doubting yourself, don't. I never dreamed I could do what I am currently doing. You can do it, too!

APiper, what part of Texas do you live in?

Good luck Mary! It's great to have your son encouraging you. My oldest generally runs with me and I think that has made all the difference.
-
Good luck to you both! I've already found so much inspiration and encouragement on this site.

It's amazing how it goes. When you look back after a couple of weeks and see how far you've come...it's so gratifying!
-
Lorraine, you go girl! I feel like if I can do this,,pretty much anyone can. Tomorrow is W5D2. I am at the point where routine changes every day, not every week. It's a bit scary, but reading a lot of these posts encourage me. Keep at It!

I've never been a runner, so I needed something that was straightforward and easy. I think that's the best part of this program- you don't have to think about it, you just do what the app tells you to do. I just finished W4D4 tonight and I am excited (but nervous) about starting W5.
-
Thanks for the encouragement! I literally JUST finished W4D4. I'm excited about the idea of being able to run a 5K before I go back to school.

50 years old, empty nesting, and pumped to have this goal!

I accidentally skipped W3D3 and went straight to week 4. Amazingly, I managed to do it even though it was a substantial step up. -
Hi LeAnn! I'm new here also. I hope this is working well for you so far. I'm encouraged by a lot of the posts I read here.

Hello all! I am a soon-to-be 45 yr old woman who has never run before. I have friends who run 5Ks and half Marathons and I have always joked that I would only run if zombies were chasing me. Recently my 11 yr old daughter started playing soccer and we had a parent/child scrimmage. By the end of it, I was afraid that I might need to call an ambulance. At that point, I decided that some running conditioning might be in order. So, here I am. Tonight I will do W3D3. I am surprised at what Ive been able to do so far! My goal is to "celebrate" turning 45 by running a 5K. Also hoping a a few of these vanity pounds fall off in the process.
