    Completed Week 6

Today have completed week 6 and ran (rather jog) for 24 mins straight without break. Though could do 3 kms in 24 mins. Week 5 run was more difficult on first attempt but repeated it and was successful. But today uninterrupted run was better as had energy and strength to run for another 5-6 mins. Earlier was dead tired and out of breath but today was exhausted but still not reached the brink. The biggest advantage was "Mental Block". At start of every run when the levels were elevated , there was a voice which kept telling me " no you cant do it, its too hard, take it easy , donot over-exert ". This was specially on the uninterrupted runs when I was told "its ok take a break , you will not last that long as its too difficult"and I was scared to even try. I have realized that more than the physical , the mental state demotivates you but you need to conquer this Block. It was more pleasing to prove that voice wrong constantly telling me to give up. Its been a difficult journey for me since last year where I was 260 lbs + and today I am 215 lbs. I still have another 30lbs to lose to come to my ideal weight. C25K has also along with others has provided me the boost and motivation in my journey. I am able to do things that I couldnt even think earlier. I am now able to set more goals and feel more confident in achieving them than ever before. The next immediate milestone will be a 5K race by the end of Feb which I aim to complete in 35 mins. Last year when I competed for the same, I had completed the same race in 57 mins hence want to return back with a vengeance.

  3. Hello! I have recently lost over 100 lbs and currently weigh 199lbs I am a 42 year old female standing 5'4 inches tall. I would like to try the C25K but wondered if I am too big? Should I try to lose more weight before I start? Thank you!

Yogi seeks to be cardio fit

Hello! My name is Kelley and I live in Washington DC. I am an intermediate yogi, vegetarian/vegan (transitioning), and 27 years young. I’m strong and flexible but I am NOT cardio fit in the slightest (but I have been many times before in the past). I have 2 main goals; one, to get cardio fit, and two, to lose a stubborn 10lbs that doesn’t seem to come off no matter what I do. Thanks for reading:) happy running!

    Triathlon goal

I've had a varied history with sport, some years i was Mr Fitness, skiing in winter, cycling, running... other years i was Mr Lazy doing nothing except maybe a few long walks or leisure bike rides. The last year i gained around 10k or 22lbs with a really busy new job and no sport at all and this year have decided to focus more on myself. Next year I turn 40 and comitted to tick one off the bucket list and do a triathlon. For this reason i'm avoiding my usual diving into sport again at full speed and injuring myself yet again but chose a slower hopefully better approach to lose weight, build stamina and work up to full marathon running distance within a year. Hoping for some support from like-minded people Thanks & happy running !

  6. Its up to you and how you feel about it. While running is much easier and softer on the joints the lighter you are, its very possible to run at any size or weight. You may even reap the benefits of additional weight loss by using the c25k program itself! Hope this helps.

  7. I had a ton of success in 2015 with C2K5 and weight lifting, but have been slowly gain g the weight back and not exercising as much as I should be. I am now on my 3rd week straight of hitting the gym 3-4 times a week. I am using the 5x5 lifting program and C25K again. I would really like to hit a 5K on Thanksgiving Day. Send your good vibes my way!
