  1. Ok this is my own running tip from my own personal limited experience and novice physical fitness knowledge. If you lend any credability to me, you're gambling. <G> I found at the start that I was struggling. I'd look at my fitbit ( its a watch too ) and check the time constantly. OMG OMG OMG just 2 more minutes and I can walk again. My body knew it was about to get a rest and it fought me hard to convince me it was out of gas. It's not!! Your body will sabotage you every single time it can. You're brain is lazy. You must fool it!!! Stop looking at the time. Run until you're told to walk. Your body doesn't know when it's going to rest and can't poop you out in advance. Just a nice comfortable pace and get lost in the music. It really really works for me. I think you should try it and tell me your fidnings. Keep your body guessing.

  2. I've never run before. Seriously. A year ago I was finally diagnosed with congenital hip dysplasia. In August of last year I had my left hip replaced then in October, my right hip. I never knew I was broken. Just thought some people hurt all the time. Well, this past week I finally realized I am not broken any more. I walked several miles a day and it felt wonderful. I have never felt the freedom of just walking without the fear of pain cutting a day short. So now I have a wild hair up my butt. What if I could run? How wonderful would that feel? I've never been able to run. My legs were different lengths and would not go together. Now I 'walk like a girl', my hips sway, and I have a normal gait. Dr says as long as it feels okay to do it with the exception of heavy weight lifting. Like power lifting. No problem with that. So here I am. A true beginner. Just learned to walk now I'm wanting to run. I work overnights so I'll be playing with when to run/ jog. Before shift or after. A bit overweight. Really more nervous than anything. So..... Hi!

    Hi Just Started

Today is day 2 but the first day outside so it seems like day 1! I felt great but exhausted at the same time. A great start to my day so we'll see Monday if this can work with my schedule before work. I like the idea of having a plan and a goal. Very specific info bUT I didn't understand with the cool down is that just a slower walk or am I supposed to stop walking and stretch? I wish it could let me know how far I ran too but I can get that with another app. I'm kind of pumped. I have ran before but not since about 17 years ago. I'm obese 200lbs female and would like to lose about 50 lbs but I know that comes with healthy eating as well. Wish me luck and thanks for having me!

  4. I "run" or "jog" almost slower than I walk! Don't be afraid to go too slow, listen to your body, your lungs and legs will tell you how much you can do. You'll get faster as you go through the program.
