Nelsonpk
How do you all measure the distance you have run? The app is C25K but measures by time, so when the instruction is to 'run for X distance or X minutes' the minutes will always be the deciding factor if you can't measure how far you have run. So playing this out I could run slowly for 30 minutes or more and still be nowhere near 5k
Guest Kathy flanagan
I used to get a bit of idea through driving the car and measuring that way. There are some apps that claim they can calculate distance but I haven't tried any of them.
KellyAnn
Hey there , What I do is use MapMyFitness or MapMyWalk app and use that app in the background, it will coach you too so I just distinguish between the two. Or turn off the prompts in that app. It measures my distance.. I am sure there are other apps too. I think Zenlabsfitness has a running app pro?? Hope this helps, happy running! Nelsonpk2000
Thanks all. I downloaded the app Runkeeper and am now running it in the background. I get a prompt every km which I find useful

Guest MNap
I also use RunKeeper, the free version. Because the C25k and C210k doesn't give distance I never really had a good sense of how 'far' I was going. Runkeeper gives me the time, distance and how fast/pace. I really liked the C25k in the beginning, but, Runkeeper is a bit more help in moving past those plateaus. I've also investigated Tempo running and have found that an interesting concept and help in body awareness while you run....so I've added 1 per week to help with my endurance and time. KellyAnn
Hi there, You can Mapmyrun or mapmyfitness or runkeeper. THose are great ones for running in the background keeping track of how far you go.
ballanburden
I second mapmyrun. I have had it for a year now and since I restarted c25k it has updated and is a great app. I use it solely for distance tracking but it has some outstanding features in the free version. Guest Laura
But how do you syncronize both apps you are using? I mean.. i am using endomondo on the backround. I start to walk, then the app tells me to start running, but endomondo already has counted some distance..so it becomes a mess.any ideas..? KellyAnn
Laura, I just let them both run. The First time I did it the MapMyFitness told me to do intervals and the 10k app was telling me to run, lol, so I figured out which app was talking and then the next time i turned the voice off of the Map one. They work side by side now so that is so nice and the app does not turn off like it used to. I have my Spotify music going too. Is that the answer you were looking for? Happy Running! ballanburden
I start mapmyrun first and then start up c25k. Mapmyrun begins tracking when I begin moving and since I am only interested in the distance tracking features I don't have the pro version of it. I do have the pro version of c25k and love it. Mapmyrun simply runs in the background while I let c25k run and give me the prompts for the workout.
