Week 5 day 3....done!

I was absolutely dreading today's run, the dreaded 20 min jump. But I actually found it OK. Not exactly pleasant but after I passed the half way mark I felt pretty good. I've been on the programme a couple of weeks as I started a few weeks in due to already doing a bit of running here and there. I do my runs 3 times a week and also go to the gym and do a few classes on days I don't run.

I just honestly feel mega pleased that today worked out like it did after I really worried about it. I felt like I could have kept going but I feel like that's where sometimes I go wrong. Pushing myself too hard, so I want to stick to the programme to build up sensibly.

Anyway I just wanted to stir a little bit of positivity into the dreaded week 5 day 3 as I think I felt a bit scared just from reading some Stuff on here.

Mind over matter. Focus on the music and try to be mindful of the world around you. That's what helps me.

Looking forward to my next challenge :)

This is motivating to read...I did my W4/D1 yesterday and that scared me lol I can't even imagine W5.  I find that reading ahead of time the plan for the upcoming week intimidates me but I end up surprising myself once it comes down to it.  Do I struggle each week?  Yes lol but I've been able to manage completing each session and with each week my pace has improved.

Good job!

I was nervous about day 3 too and had planned on doing day 2 again before moving to day 3, but I was encouraged by someone here to move onto day 3 and if I had to stop and walk at some point to then call it day 2.

I actually did it! 20 straight minutes and it wasn't as bad as I though it would be!!

If this 53 year old and 221# mom can do it so can you!!

I'm now week 9 day 3 and still surprising myself every time. Now at a distance of around 7.5km in around 45mins including warm up. and seeing my pace improve all the time. Once you've pushed past the barriers to get to the 5k everything seems a bit easier... For now anyway, I'm sure that will change in the coming weeks.keep going everyone

Congratulations Aimee.  I'm still waiting for it to get "easier", but your post gives me hope that it will eventually happen.

Week 11 now... I think I take the "easier" back. Granted the margins of change seem smaller now but the amount of time it takes to complete really impacts on my motivation. I ran one morning last week instead of my usual evening and it was so hard but also I think I was in totally the wrong frame of mind. All learning curves I guess. Still pushing on! Hope everyone is doing great :)

Congratulations on finishing week 5! That's such an accomplishment! You should be very proud!

I just finished week 5 day 1. Even though I've previously completed the program up to week 7 day 3 I'm still dreading the week 5 day 3 :P so it's really nice to come here and read all these posts of people who have recently jumped the hurdle! Thanks for leaving feedback and happy running to you!

Ik you wrote this over a month ago, but I just did wk5 day 3 two days ago! I was so nervous about that run, but the whole time I just told myself I had to keep going and I DID!:) When the app said I had 1 minute left, I smiled that whole last minute, I was so proud! Never thought I would be able to do it! Doing wk 6 day 1 tonight, so excited! Lol keep it up!
