I am by no means an expert, but if you're starting something brand new you may want to take it easy as your body gets used to the changes. Every other day is just fine.

I am doing it every day. But spend 7 days on each week. So day 1, day 2, day 3, day 3, day 3, day 3, day 3. Then go to the next week. Gives me time to be happy doing the week, without pushing too hard. Towards the end of the week i might add another jog in. That way when transition comes its not so hard. Im up to wk 4 day 3 now.
