NCjen
I am on week 7 of the training and I have made a lot of progress. I am happy with how far I've come, but I can still only jog 2 miles or so before feeling very tired (and mostly HOT). I signed up for my very first 5k before starting C25K and it's in a couple of weeks. Should I just do it and jog as much as possible? Should I plan to alternate walking and running, or just jog until I need to walk? It is harder for me to start back jogging after a walk break than it is to just keep jogging very slowly. Any tips or advice?
KellyAnn
Hey there, Cngrats on week 7. You got this. Great job by the way. You will be surprised at how you can go faster in a crowd of people. You do what makes you feel right! Good luck amd keep us posted. Zima
Janviv
Do your 5k at your pace, everyone is usually very nice, I did my 1st last weekend, I walked when I had to. A lovely lady running with someone else, gave me course tips, so I was able to conserve enough energy to make a final run at the end, I didn't finish last, but if I had it wouldn't have mattered, lots of people walk large sections of the course. The main thing is to enjoy yourself & make sure you drink plenty of water at the end of your race. Good luck let us know how you get on. NCjen
Thank you for your responses! The 5k was this weekend and I finished in just under 35 minutes, which I'm really happy with. I did walk some but held out till after the 2 mile mark because it's harder for me to go back to jogging after I begin walking. I've signed up for another 5k this fall, so I hope to keep up the motivation and maybe improve some by then.

Hermes
That's great! Congrats! 35 minutes with some walking is not bad. Faster than me anyway.
