Week 4 day 1

Just got back from successfully completing week 4 day 1, but it almost killed me! It took everything I had to run the 5 minutes straight! I look on to next week when I'm supposed to run 20 minutes straight on day 3 and I find it highly unlikely. Did anyone else have these fears? Should I do week 4 two weeks in a row? Any advice is appreciated!

I definitely can relate, Mandy!! I just finished week 4 day 2... Somehow it was harder than week 4 day 1, ugh! I'm thinking I'll probably repeat week 4, because I've definitely struggled more with it than any other weeks. Then again, I suppose there's no problem with trying week 5 straight away, not getting through it and then deciding to go back to week 4. I'm sure we can both get through it in the end, even if it takes a little longer! Good luck :)

Hey there ladies,

When I saw that too , I freaked too. So, I tried the 20 minutes, and I couldn't do it, so I just repeated the week before and then moved on again. The best thing to do is to not look at your phone at all, otherwise, those minutes will take forever. You both are doing great. Keep it up.

FWIW, I'll be making my 3rd attempt at W4D1 tomorrow.  My 2nd attempt resulted in me going further and faster than the first but still not doing the 5-minute jog.  I'm going to keep at this until I conquer it (hopefully tomorrow).  I'm *really* glad I have the right apps so that I can get accurate measurements otherwise I might not have seen the progress from the first to second attempts and it was that progress that encouraged me.

Ruth,

I'm using an iPhone 6 Plus.  For music, I'm either playing from my playlists or I'm streaming via SiriusXM.  I run the C25K Pro app to get the "start running"/"start walking" prompts.  I also use MapMyRun+ to get more details on each session (I basically hit 'start' to both apps once I get the music going).  MapMyRun+ gives me splits, an elevation graph, a speed graph and the last two superimposed on each other.  The apps are feeding into Apple's Health app via the HealthKit API which helps me get out on those days when I just plain don't want to - but I want to see the numbers go up so I go out.
