Guest TrishE
Hey everybody, I am relatively new to the forums and very new to being a moderator here for zenlabs, I had an idea and wanted to run it by you. I know lots of people have exercise and diet questions/advice but I wanted to find out how beauty/body care advice, topics, questions, would go over with you guys? I know a lot of people are braving the elements and i know how diet changes can affect different people. I also know that could potentially open the door for some bad behavior but I believe in how great our members are and how good the moderators (cough) are. If there is zero interest in that, totally ok. Thats what great about these forums. Honesty without impoliteness. But if there are any of you who have questions or advice let me know and we can start chatting and posting. Thanks y'all!
KellyAnn
Hey Trish, What do you mean by Body/Beauty care advice? Topics? Like skin care regimen? I am not understanding what you are asking?
Guest TrishE
yes ma'am thats exactly what i mean. skin, hair. Things like that. Just asking if starting some topics would be well received.
KellyAnn
Hi Trish, and that's Yes Young Lady, not Yes Ma'am, just kidding..lol... hee hee... Interesting topic for sure, might go over good. I do know one thing though, we do not want to encourage anyone to sell skincare products on here, they totally frown upon that, might want to check with Admin on that. Any business for that matter. So if you do start a topic, make it a general one. I live in a very dry climate so I have had to try many different skincare lines out there to find one I like. Sheesh, I even have used baby oil, fractionated coconut oil as a moisturizer to show how desperate I was.. Even use baby oil as a body moisturizer. I loved visiting my BFF in Hawaii, my skin felt so good.. Anyways, see what they say.
Guest TrishE
That is a very good point. I was just curious because I was reading an article in Fitness about how the winter weather can damage skin and hair because of how dry it is. Dont know if anyone else was having issues with things like that
TheRoseWithin~Shannon
That's a great point Trish, the care of our bodies before, during and after - super important no matter what season. I'm all for running in comfort and I enjoy hearing what others use or do not use. I agree in regards to advertising any kind of business here -- that turns me off. I am so glad Zenlabs frowns upon that. I could see how an individual would be tempted to use just such a forum for personal gain. Speaking of coconut oil - I have used no other moisturizer other than virgin coconut oil for the last three years. I use it for everything, skin, hair, cooking and oil pulling. Awe-mazing! KellyAnn
Oh super cool Shannon, Every morning I put a tsp of coconut oil in my coffee with my creamer. Love it. My dog gets a tsp too. I use the fractionated as a moisturizer as it does not smell like coconut. I am a hairdresser too, and I used to own a Salon here. My hair is short and always has been, goes with my cute face, lol. I never worry about damage as It gets cut short every week.. I would imagine longer hair having dryness issues, etc.... I think it would be a great topic Trish! I have used every danged skincare line and even selling a few. I really got into selling one and loved it and then I developed a huge rash, uhh, that didn't workout at all. So I am back to using tried and true Mary Kay. I have used very brand there is, but I still love my oil on my face. Too dry here. but, i am used to it. I AM SO LOVING THESE forums. Way better than FB...

TheRoseWithin~Shannon
LOL Azatol! I'm just the opposite! I love steam frying my eggs in a wee bit of coconut oil. Also, in the past, I purchased my virgin coconut oil from Tropical Traditions - love this site to no end! However, it's pretty spendy, (50% off as I type). Recently I discovered a brand from Amazon that sells a gallon for only 25ish - it makes fab popcorn btw!! Same exact ingredients as Tropical Traditions. Excellent amazon reviews!!
