That is great! I’m really new to all this and don’t consider myself a “runner” yet, but I am getting there!

It took me a bit longer than the actual plan most likely since I am a former smoker. Tonight I completed 3.2 miles and I have lost 25lbs in the process.

    Thanks.
This morning, the app said to run 3 min, rest, then 5 minutes. Not doable at this time, so I reset the whole thing and did week 1 day 1. The positive thing is that 1 minute seems very doable, almost easy, so there has been improvement since the first week 1 day 1, 6 weeks ago.
Let us know how week 3 goes this week.

I finished Week 3 Day 2 today. My legs are a little tired but otherwise I feel pretty good. The last 3 minute run was hard! My calf muscles get so tight. Taking a walk seems to help loosen me up though. Keep working, we got this!

It is cold but won’t last. Spring is right around the corner. Once we get to St. Patrick’s day it’s just a matter of time. Daylight is longer and the temps will start a warming trend. Looking forward to it for sure!

Oh I think you will get to where you can run 3 to 5 minutes! It just doesn’t seem like it right now. Hang in there. I’m doing week 3 again. The way it seems to me, is everyone has a different pace for adapting to running.
You can do this! I believe in you

I've joined up to lose some weight, I've put on around 40lbs since my wedding in 2017 and need to sort myself out to get in better shape, I've done casual runni g before but never kept it up, hopefully c25k can keep me on track. I'm sound 207lbs now and looking to get down to 160ish and get some regular park runs in over summer.
I'm a bit of a yoyoer so really going to give this my best shot.

    Hi all you runners!
I went to my doctor on Wednesday thinking everything was fine, after a 40 min walk even and was told: 1. I had high blood pressure. 2. It wasn't a fluke  3. I now have to take meds for it.  4. I'd better loose a lot of weight. That set me back a bit. The last time I was consistently active was 5 years ago when I was doing 5k training.  So here I am again, this time I am doing the 10k training because I figured I'd better keep training until...well actually I'd better not ever stop training. I am glad to be able to be here.

    Hi MJ,
I'm new here too. Also on a weight loss journey but closer to the start. I have 80 lbs to go. It sounds like you have done a lot of hard work to get where you are now. Keep working away at it.  The c25k program is awesome for getting you to your goal in little steps.  You can do it!

    Hello everyone!
My name is Mj, and I’m a 28yo wife, college graduate, and an activities specialist for those with dementia. I’m also on my own weight loss journey, currently down 60lbs since August of 2018. I have documented my journey on YouTube and other social media.
I’m here on C25K because I want to be able to do a 5k run in May with my sister. I don’t remember the last time I was able to run, yet alone jog. This is definitely going to be a whole new chapter in my journey to lose weight and to get fit.
I look forward to getting to know you all if you so choose to get to know me too.
    Thank you!

I had to chuckle when I read this. It's like when I was using my app and I swear she said "begin running"... ummm nope. So I was running and omg kept thinking come on tell me to walk. Turns out this was the 5 minute  cool down period

Hello! Just getting going with the app. Right now the weather here isn't fit for running so I am on the treadmill.  I purposely restarted week one. Trying to make sure I am adapted before I move to the next week. This is all very new to me but I am determined to succeed!

I did week 3 this week (my 5th week with the app, I think). I never did make it up to 3 minutes. I was planning on just going on to week 4, but it might be good to do week 3 again. At this point, I seriously doubt I will ever run for 3 or 5 minutes straight, let alone as much as they expect us to run at the end of the app.

(Dang, there are a lot of I's in that.)

I don't own a treadmill but I wonder if the dry air has something to do with it? I know that winter heaters/furnaces usually dry out the air.
