Teena got a reaction from TheRoseWithin~Shannon in Water...
Thanks for the information! You are amazing. I've heard of people shooting to drink 1 gallon per day...maybe I will give that a try.
Right now my goal is to STOP drinking McDonald's Sweet Tea...I love it and it is so bad for me. So I am sticking to water, milk and hot tea. I hope this helps keep me focused.

Teena got a reaction from KellyAnn in Mostly inside runner feeling embarrassed at 5K
I love your story Shannon...a very sweet memory to hold onto when the run gets a little longer and the body starts burning.
Bookrun...I do not enjoy running inside on a treadmill or a soft track. I think there is a huge difference when trying to run outside. I know many people prefer the climate control aspect of running inside but it never has worked for me. When I was in the Air Force, we had an outside rubbery track that we had to do our pt test on and I always struggled with that track. I was able to have someone score me running around the flight line which was just a normal sidewalk and I always did much better there. Another idea is to have someone run with you that is an avid and experienced runner that can set a desirable pace for you.
I hope that helps you...but just remember don't let one bad run stop you from getting back out there.

I've always said I hated running. I've never been athletic in the least, and whenever I've heard people exclaim how much they love running, I've thought them mad--who would run for fun? Shouldn't that be reserved for life/death situations?
...but then again, how am I supposed to run in a life/death situation if I can't jog for a minute on any other day?
I started c25k one month ago today. I got through w1d1 and felt so accomplished...albeit, ashamed for being so out of shape. I'm now on w5d3 (the anxiously anticipated 20 min jog), and was excited to get to it today, except that it's raining here and I have nothing to wear for running in the rain. It may clear up later, but I prefer to run before the world wakes up. Tomorrow is supposed to be clear, so I think I'll just wait until then.
I'm very much determined to complete this program and move right on to the 10k training program!

I think if you are new to running you should probably work up to it before you start running that much. Once you have built up the stamina and distance you might be able to give that a go.
I wish you the best of luck!!!

Way to go Red! You are my hero!! You can talk on the phone and negotiate contracts while running and I have a hard time just keeping upright let alone talking...I can't even sing to myself without getting messed up. You're amazing!!

Thanks for sharing your journal with us. I just started w1d1 yesterday so I am pumped to get running and learn to love it again. I'm thinking I will start my journal later tonight when I get back from my walk.

Teena got a reaction from TheRoseWithin~Shannon in Week 1 Day 1 - Last Night
Aww thank you all so much for the warm welcome. I am very inspired to make this work and to get back into the habit of making running part of my life again.
I know that loosing weight will help my running feel more natural but I am so scared to get on a scale to see what exactly my number is.

Wow...its been about 5 1/2 years since I last attempted to run. I wanted to die at about minute 16 and every time the girls voice came on and said "start running" I wanted to scream...but I DID IT. The last minute was about torture and my 11 year old son ran with me cheering me on. It was a great accomplishment. My body is pretty sore but otherwise I feel good.
But heres a little about myself:
I am 32 years old and a single mother. I was in the Air Force for 8 years and would run about 14 miles a week...I always did much better with long distance running versus running fast so I struggled with the pt test. I've been out of the Air Force for 5 years, went to college, became a paralegal and gained probably over 50 pounds. I was 160 when I left the Air Force and the last time I got on a scale 6 months ago I was 220. This past Monday, my son said that he wanted to go for a run, he is 11 and a baseball player and he wants to start running as he gets back into the season. So he ran...I walked and watched him and I decided that I wanted to start running again too. So I went home and downloaded the C25KFree App and did my first day last night. I am praying that I continue through this program because my son and I now committed each other to running a 5K together in 3 months or so.
Good luck! I hope we can all encourage each other on this journey.
Happy Running!!

I am so tired of it too Bianca!! I have been gaining and gaining for the last 5 years or so and it is too much. I am 32 and only have 1 child so it can be overwhelming trying to do this. But just lace up those shoes and get moving. You can do it!!!

Oh wow. First Welcome here. Second, YOU DID IT!!! Yes you did. I am totally impressed. Doesn't it feel great? I think it's awesome that your son wanted to run and then you downloaded to app to run too. I love it. You made my day today when I saw this.
Third - Thank you for serving our country. My Dad and Hubby are retired AF, and my son is a Marine.
I can't wait to watch your Journey with your son. We have an Accountability 2015 Board you can make your Journal and post their too if you would like.
Everyone is so supportive here and so encouraging. We are all here cheering you on.
So proud of you, keep it up. Yay.
